What if? Part II

Thank you all for your thoughtful words and support regarding my near 'puff' last weekend.  I DIDN'T have that puff and am sooo glad.  That weird little craving dissipated and I am back to normal since.  I didn't think about smoking at all the past 2 days.  How weird it can be for a craving to sneak up out of the blue like that.  I've had those eerie smoking dreams too!  The only good thing about them is that they turn out to be 'only' dreams!  Hope you have a lovely restful refreshing snooze tonight Roses : ) Sweet (breath) dreams to you.  Am off to slumber land with fresh brushed teeth and hopefully NO cigars to be found in my dreams tonight either!
Keep up the good work all.  NOPE works!

My pledge for today..I did not smoke today and I will not smoke tonight either..

I pray for a night full of pleasant smoke free dreams tonight..

Wow Eyja that was a close one..So glad you resisted..
I've had some tough craves lately myself..as I am sure others on this site have..I
ts seems that no matter how long we have been quit we will have to be every vigilant and never let our guards down..after all we are all one puff away from being a full fledged junkies again..Thats why it is so important to "Never take another puff  NTAP" a quote taken from Joel at Whyquit.com a cold turkey quit smoking web site..also remember NOPE not one puff ever and of course HALT to pay attention to how we are feeling and take care of ourselves..Are we feeling Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired..We must listen and take care of our needs and what we don't need right now is more smoke and mirrors from that sneaky evil drug nicotine...Using Cigarettes and Nicotine won't make us feel better in the end really will it, unless you like being buried 5 feet under that is...

Remembering and taking my pledge for today..

I will not smoke today..NTAP

You should be REALLY proud of yourself Eyja.  I'm not sure I could have resisted under the same circumstances.  One thing I was taught when I went through a day treatment program when I was abusing alcohol is to avoid, people, places and things that were associated with the addiction for at least the first year after you stop using whatever your substance of choice is, if not forever.  I guess the same would apply to cigarettes.

Since I stopped smoking about 8 lbs. crept up on me even though I have been excercising.  So last week I increased my level of excercise and decreased my calories.  The hard one to let go of is sweets.  Haven't lost any of the extra pounds yet but at least I've stopped gaining and I definitely feel like I have more energy and my moods are a little more stable.  . . .  . so  . . . . I will not smoke today. N.O.P.E.

Oh, wow, Eyja,

Sounds like that craving just snuck up on you. What a scary thing. So glad that you resisted.

....And quit playing with cigars when you're drinking.  Yikes!

I think you you are batting at least 750 Workin'!  I figure you deserve the bonus points for keeping your promise NOT to SMOKE- and -  imagining the sexy Elvira will lead you to that wonderful sexy conclusion yourself as soon as you get that resolve to head back to the gym - likely when rested, you'll  be back on track in no time : )  Good on ya !

But I had the weirdest craving to have ONE PUFF last night! I let my guard down when playing darts with friends over a few beers- it was hard to resist this craving!  I had to leave the party-  I even held a cigar in my hand for a short time and flicked the ashes off it once or twice! YIKES!!!!! So I am sorely in need of reiterating my pledge in BIG way today!
I didn't smoke that cigar last night and I won't cave today - I  KNOW very well that NOPE is my only way to freedom for life!  Whoa Man!  What was I thinking!!!!!   Lucky to have dodged that bullet!  NOPE WORKS!  Whew!

Ugh! I ended up not making it to the gym yesterday, but I did keep my promise to not smoke. Batting 500 here, I guess.

Switched up the avatar in honor of my favorite holiday. Plus, I get to imagine that I'm sexy Elvira, whether I go to the gym or not.

And I will not smoke today.
