Hey Carpepax ! Great job on the cold turkey quit. My hat is off to you. Your physical addiction is gone, now you can only be beat by your your own head. Well done !!

I feel pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to having no more soot in my chest and bronchial system. Some time a bit gets out of place and changes my voice like puberty all over again. I have not been as active as I'd like but then again it's sort of winter. I say sort of because it's California - just cool enough to make walking less than desirable.

I looked at the gum and lozenges and was appalled they are more expensive than cigarettes. I got sick of the smell of smoke in my clothes, in my car...and I haven't smoked indoors or in a car in years before now. The smell permeates unnaturally and I decided it was time to stop doing that to my body, my clothes and my environment.

I'm still at a loss for what to do with the time I would have used for smoking and, since one priority is now gone, I have to reorganize my priorities. It's fun, though, in that it's like starting from scratch developing new habits...just trying to make them good ones.

Dear Carpepax

You have my real admiration for doing this Cold Turkey!  (I used every aid possible.  LOL)  Reading between the lines, it feels as if you had a grim determination to succeed, and you just went on and did it!

After 40 years of smoking I thought I could not do it either.  It's amazing what we can overcome when we have the right mind set!

I am so pleased for you.  Huge Congratulations on nearly 3 months!

Stay Strong!     Love Lolly.

Carpepax,

Great stuff! Congrats on 2.5 months of smoke free living! What do you like best about being a non-smoker so far?

Hey Carpepax!!!

Way to go!!!  I have been wondering how you have been getting along and now I know!  You're doing great!!!  Just continue what you are doing and remember that although the demon is now weaker, the little bugger does not die quietly!!!  Be sure to reward yourself often... you deserve it!!!

             Congrats!!!

Well done Carpepax! Doesn't it feel great? And I am so pleased your quit went so smoothly, mine did too, and although I appreciate others don't have it quite so easy, I was very grateful, as I too was dreading quitting after many years as a heavy smoker. Keep up your great work and your great positivity, you're well on your way now.

Oops. That should read that I've smoked for 20 years, not 25.
