Welcome Humble;
You are doing great already!  It is so important to prepare yourself for your quit!  I agree with Breather on finding Alan Carr's book - it helps a lot.  All the education and planning you can do, along with all the positive support you can receive will help you get ready for your Quit day.  SSC has a wealth of info, great posts and most important, honest feedback from others who share this journey with you! Your posts and questions so far are already setting you on the right path!  Remember to take care of yourself and reward yourself for making this great decision! Eya

Thank You Josie and Breather.  As you know, feedback is a most important part of the program and I do appreciate your support.  I have read the book twice and have been part of two programs put on by the health department here so I learned a lot.  The motto:  Don't quit quitting.

Hi Humble Welcome.  It's great that you've decided to stop smoking. Just a couple of suggestions for you. Many members have found Alan Carr's book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" a must read and be sure to have ice water on hand to wash away the craves. Excellent for you. You're the most important person here. breather

I hate smoking and everything about it.  I plan to become a non-smoker as soon as I read all the instructions, suggestions and posts from members. bbs
