A-hem! Let's look a little more lively, crew!

So what if you're barely hanging on by your knuckles? At least you could swing a little while doing it.

It IS the weekend after all...might as well whoop and holler with that new lung power.

Tipple a little, all it will add is a little happiness, doesnt have to take you down the old path...kick up the heels and knees and skirts if you have one....smile and laugh...celebrate!

You're free now! Sing it to the skies!

We love being happy and smoke free!!!

Aloha!

Helloo there :)  Oh yes - the SSC ballroom does host a fine gala. It makes for a wonderful place to browse through other's (impressive) Quit achievements, strategies, poems, humor  stories (sometimes so poignant; scared; disillusioned) - but all so very valuable to help each other along the Quit journey! I've been grateful to find this safe haven on many a sleepless night recently!  Maybe you'll find time, Peteg, to add your wonderful way with words to Pen's Poetry Corner - Got a Haiku up your sleeve???  Have a great weekend everyone! Just say NOPE!

The gala has been moved to the SCC ballroom... my age is catching up with me; went straight from day job to nights-and-weekend job, taught a class, and just got home wanting nothing more than a smoke and a nice glass of wine.  I had an apple.  Who IS this person??  Already dreading an overbooked weekend (not overbooked in the ways I'd like...) and learning new ways to wind down and recharge that don't involve purchases where proof of age is required.  (Um, not that I've been asked for proof since Dunedude was dancing in his diapers...)

Have a lovely evening... I'll be around when I'm not working this weekend.  See you all then!

Okay Guysies, I have a hike to go on, and then maybe the beach, so don't wait for me, but I will be back to check in on the partying. I sure hope somebody is going to be dancing besides me. If not, I'll bring some social lubrication...Carry on...

LMHO! You're a nut Peteg!! (albeit sans the pea) :)
So . . . am heading out now for the gala event - got my shoes greased up (a good use for the lard don't ya think?)  to make for lightnin' speed travel

Interesting observation!  Maybe I should have said "Bing-Bonging!"
I certainly hope that I don't go pinging (or binging) out of here again!!
And mais oui, you are most welcome at our next gala!  I will tell you, however, that I do not dance, and I certainly do not dance clad as some people around here!  I have neither the dexterity nor the body for such activities!  We do have our own fun in our own way, though; I can assure you of that!

U C even tho I'm new to the forum, I have definitely read many of your posts from before yesterday (it's hard to mistake that peanutless avatar & and clever wit)!  So I  was referring to your 'Apple' not falling far from your Dad's tree (in his greener pasture) and his penchant for ping ponging. I thought maybe your Apple has some similarities to his ping ponging behavior - what with your coming and goings on around here! BTW can I come to that party of yours? I have brand new running shoes that need the tread worn in ; I could jog all the lard off my butt on the way over!  Will you be bonging for apples?  Dancing in your undies?  Either way, am so glad all guests will sticking with their Quit! Yay to NOPE!

Glad your back. Let's make this one stick or I'm going to come bong on your door at throw apples your way...

My Dear Eya, I hate to think what lard might be doing in that part of your body or how it got there, but in only two days back, I have seen posts about making out, doing unspeakable things with collies, and God only knows WHAT else you whipper-snappers might have been up to in my absence (I just said whips, God help me).

And no, for your information, I never put apples in bongs (or anywhere else you may already have thought of).  When I was young and lithe, bongs are what doorbells said.  And even I never smoked a doorbell, with or without an apple in it.

As to how your -- er -- rear end got "stubbed out," I'm sure I don't want to know.  (But you could always send me a private message with the details!!  I am planning a party for the weekend, Lent notwithstanding, that will no doubt involve lard, apples, collies, and whatever salacious details you send along.  There will not, however, be any smoking of any substance through any medium, including things that go bong -- or bonk -- in the night.)

Thanks!

Hey Peteg!  I loved reading your oldtimer posts from the past!  Kinda looks like you've been around yourself  Mistah Applepong! But it is great to see you back -your reputation precedes you LOL!  Ya know I thought I was a newbie here, but looking at my 50 day Quit stats, (Feb Quit) I see that I have graduated to oldtimer status already as well! That's kinda cool Marbles! Yay! I'm glad for you to have found a fellow March quitter to work thru the early days of your Quit with! It has made my day to log in and see that !!!! from my fellow real time Quit buds here! Also very fine to read these flashing stats and words of wisdom from those who have made it even longer!  Thx to Ashley, Jazz, Aloha (4 Yrs; WOW!)  & Lula just in this post alone!  WooHoo!  Already packed away my chainsaw in favor of some new state 'o the art running shoes!  Now. . . if I can just get the lard off my (stubbed out) butt . . . ahhhhhh!  that would be grand!  Eya
