Hi Ready2quit,
Although other members may be able to speak better to this, I like your solution A.
As your avatar sais, 'keep calm and carry on'!  You mentioned you feel fine and are tolerating minor withdrawal symptoms, and
you will be starting the lower dose tomorrow.
You have also made it past the first two challenging weeks by using other coping mechanisms so you have an idea
of what works for you should you need to use additional tools to help you through any cravings.

Way to get through the first half of the month!  You're doing great!

I forgot to put on my patch this morning. I didn't notice until almost 10 a.m. but, once I noticed, I was so anxious and nervous that I decided to run to the pharmacy and buy another box.

I bought 14mg, since I was supposed to start those tomorrow anyway. I'm wearing it today and it's OK... it doesn't work as well as the 21mg patch, of course... there's some withdrawal symptoms. But they're very weak compared to previous cold turkey or just nicotine gum attempts. I have absolutely no doubt the 14mg will work and I won't go back to smoking - I've had enough.

BUT... now I still have two 21mg patches left. What should I do? Use those anyway starting tomorrow? Throw them out? I hate wasting the money, hahaha. I'm also worried if I don't follow the program perfectly, it might not make quitting as easy as I hope.

Which of these should I do:

A) Forget about it. Just keep going with the 14mg patches.
B) Finish the 21mg patches, then continue with your new box of 14mg patches.

Thanks, Josie! I'll keep a note of it.

But it's gone for now. Back down to 0/10 craving levels - and it's been that way since yesterday.

Good for you Ready!

Keep pushing forward and take the time to write down the time and place your cravings occurred!  This could be  potential trigger for you, so be ready for it next time!

Day 20. :) I had two really strong cravings last night (5/10, compared to the 0/10 I've been experiencing for the past week or more).

I didn't give in, but it was disappointing to have such a strong craving. But, whatever. ;) I chewed a piece of gum for the first craving and just went to sleep to escape the second.

You are doing so fantastically Ready2Quit!  I find myself with 3 dollars pin money just from being more aware of my smoking today and wonder to myself just how much money i will have when i finally do set and meet a quit date.

I do hope you buy yourself something nice with your pin money!! :)

I made it two weeks. Today is Day 15. :) YYYAAAYYY!!!

I took $20 out of my bank account on Wednesday and I still have about $12 in my pocket. I haven't had pocket change last this long since I was teenager... it's amazing to me.

Thank you, everyone, for the support.

OK - today is Day 14 and my quit is still shiny and new without a single puff to blemish it. ;)

I just opened what will hopefully be my second-last box of 21mg patches. I'm going to try switching to the 14mg patch after four weeks.

I'm confident this quit will be successful. In fact, my main worry right now, my internal dialogue, is:

"What if I switch to the 14mg patch and it gets hard? I should probably buy a box of 14mg patches now and try them to find out. But then what if it isn't hard? I'll have wasted money on whatever 21mg patches I didn't use. Or what if I wait 4 weeks to switch to the 14mg patch but I find it too hard? Then I have to buy another pack of 21mg matches..."

On and on and on. They're senseless junkie thoughts, but they're not about smoking at least. ;)
