Best wishes to you today Sparky! I am on my 5th day today and I'm embarrassed to say how many times I have quit in the past and gone back to smoking. I've been a "loser quitter" for way too long. I'm doing some different things this time. In the past I just tried to block out everything about quitting when I quit. This time I am embracing everything, even the urges, and I am doing serious battle with my inner addict! I want to put my inner addict to rest. I'm tired of all her excuses and justifications!
OMG Sparky, it's so good to see you back. And you brought friends.....Tye and Charm. It's a party for sure! Welcome back Sparky, you've been missed! Best wishes to all of you on your success.
Well Sparky, actually I am right there with you. I was the January 2002 Hall of Fame Winner. That kind of saddens me at the same time motivates me to get there again.
This is a good place to be and the reasons I relapsed way back when, had nothing to do with this site, in fact it was the reason I stayed quit for a year.
So YES we can do this (again) and this time for GOOD.
This is a GREAT day to start the journey!!! Congrats for taking the first step toward your FREEDOM!!! Stick close, read and learn and just holler if you need a hand, arm, shoulder... whatever it takes! Just kick that demon's ash!!!
Ron, thanks for the reminder This site gave me a wonderful honor and I would love to live up to it. Dave, Lolly and Breather so glad you all are doing so well and I am so happy to see you here. Charm and Tye welcome to SSC it is the greatest place on earth. We can do this, just don't smoke. Come here first and as they say wait for 10 replies
Hello Sparky , tye and Charm. Excellent for you smoking your last cigarettes. I want to encourage you to stay the course. In the next little while especially be sure and be kind to yourselves. Tell yourself that I'm not going to have one this minute and if a minute is too long tell yourself just for the next ten seconds. Although NRT's make stopping easier it is ultimately yourselves that acheive the success and not any NRT. Be sure to rest if need be and pamper yourselves as the not smoking needs to be reinforced. I would say good luck but luck has nothing to do with it. Determination will win the day. Making the best of today is all that can be expected of us. Thanks for keeping me smoke free one more day. You're the most important people here. jusT foR todaY TRY. breather
I'll be with you all the way! Do join up with the other new quitters, (even though you've been there before,) it does help to have someone in the same boat as you.
Love Lolly.
Whatever it takes, just don't smoke!!!
