First off congrats.  Your doing great.  From my experiance it takes awhile.  It will probably be at least another month or two.  At least.  But it gets easier and once you hit that point where it doesn't take up your mindframe every ten seconds it's a momentary anoyance at best.
 
Try to look at quitting like breathing.  If you focused on your breathing all day long you would probably notice a few differances in breathing patterns every now and then.  You may dwell on them.  You might convince yourself that your having a hard time breathing and start gasping. 
 
But we just know that we breath, do it without thinking and move on with other aspects of our lives.  Just know that you are quit for good.  Try to move on as best you can and eventually the time will come when you rarely ever think about it at all.

Hey Lance, It does get easier beleive me.  As said here , it just kinda happens and you find that you dont even think about smoking.  You are doing well, keep it up.

I cant speak for anyone else but this is my opinion, I think the ability to smoke is always with you long after you stop. Even tho you may not think of it, its still there. I have been without a smoke for a month and I cant say I don't miss it , but I have gotten myself hooked on healthy things. Everyday gets easier , your teaching yourself to be a nonsmoker and its not easy to figure out what to do with all that free time. All of us have been in your shoes we understand. Take it one day at a time one craving at a time.

Lance-I feel you today.  I asked myself that same question today.  I had actually been feeling amazing, but I went back to work after being home 3 yrs with my little one.  And all I could think about yesterday and today was smoking.  i have no idea why.  But I have been stressed to the max, still waiting on my test results and starting this new crappy job has pushed me over the edge.  But I am still smoke free.  And you should still  be smoke free as well.  I truly believe its that freaking nicodemon trying to get into my head.  A while back I spoke to a psychologist about life in general and some obstacles I was facing.  She told me the devil works in mysterious ways.  The devil will change your mind and make you try to do bad things(smoking), he roots you on to fail.   So when you feel him lingering, tell him to get the freak off my shoulder I'm not going there.  She was referring to smoking and telling that nicodemon to get away.  Scream it if you have to, who cares if someone thinks we are crazy, haha!!  I had to say it a few times today.  But I made it through and so will you.  Keep up the great work!!!

Lance - this drug called nicotine is a nasty one - you're body craves it and your mind fights the urge to have it.  It is a rough ride and a tough road to give it up.  One we all have to take and one we all glady make - even though we know it plays tricks on our minds and makes us be a$$holes to those around us, hurting the ones we love.  Anyone who knows you are going through your quit will understand.  If they don't understand, all you can do is apologize and forget about it.  You cannot dwell on things - that only gives ole' nic something else to feed on. 
Be proud that you are a non-smoker - if you have a bad day or snap at someone, so be it.  You can apologize and that's all you have to do.  You're quit is more important than hurting someone's feelings.  As I said...if they care about you, they will understand.  If not, that is their problem and theirs alone.
 
Be proud in your quit and don't ever give up!  It will get easier!!

Being moody is normal while quitting?  Did you explain to the person that you are in the process of quitting? Most people are pretty understanding of a moody quitter. 
 
You have just past Zombie month the toughest month!  You are doing great.  Try to remain positive and know that this is probably one of the most important struggles of your life.

Lance, I can only speak for myself on this one. I started working out at about the same time I quit smoking. And I discovered at that point that I am not as strong as I thought I was. Push ups were tough and pull ups... forget it. Not a chance in the world.. I was SO disappointed, so mad... I pushed myself more and more... until I realized a simple thing. I neglected my body for 20 years and expected it to just stay fit... out of what? Habit? Not happening. So, this is the approach I have with my quit as well. If I chose to kill my body for 20+ years why don't I turn things around and be as patient with the healing... So, tell you what. If in 20+ years I will still have super strong cravings, every minute of every day... I will stop my quit. Until then? NOPE
Don't get me wrong. I still have my ups and downs. So are the guys that quit smoking a year or two ago. But now I feel I have a choice whereas 43 days ago, I didn't think I did.

    I cant say exactly when smoking no longer is foremost on your mind.  It just sort of happens.  After a while you just seem to notice that you don't think of smoking all the time.  But it never really goes away.  The nicodemon is sneaky and lurks in the shadows waiting for a weak moment.

Lance, I'm 229 days into my quit and sometimes I still think about it. I would say it got easier for me around 90 days, but then there would be times when it seemed tougher along the way. You just have to fight it one crave at a time, with every fight you win, your closer to your goal of being completely free.
