Sunshine,

You are on your way through hell week, here is a hug for you to get through another day.  Keep drinking ice water, and focus you mind on anything but smoking, even if its for like 10 min at a time.  You can do this.

Welcome Sunshine!

Congratulations on your choice to quit smoking!  Do not apologize for rambling, that is what we are here for.  It is normal to be nervous before your quit and we are here to help you get through it.

I have read your first pledge and it looks like you are off to a good start in the program.  Keep it up!

Put a rewards system in place, it will help you to stay motivated.  What will your reward be for getting through day one?

Keep reading and posting. Remember preparation is important!

Hello to everyone!
I have been here a couple of times to quit and failed twice.  The first time I quit for a month and the second time for almost nine months.  Both times something happened to make me go tilt and there I was relying on the cigs to pull me through even though I know that they don't help the situation.  I have been smoking now for 2 months and have decided enough is enough.  I used to be known on this site as payroll momma but have since changed my name to Sunshine!  Evidentally while I had quit for those 9 months people would tell me I was like a ray of sunshine because I was so proud to have conquered by quit (or so I thought - thus the name change).  I had definately noticed a change in every facet of my life when I wasn't smoking and I liked and miss it.  I have to try again and hopefully my strength will pull me through to become a non-smoker forever.  I have to admit I am scared to go through hell week, etc.  I remember back and it wasn't fun.  I'm going out this weekend to by the patches to help me through again and have my target day as Sunday.  Wish me luck and sorry if I seem to be rambling.  It just the nerves talking the more I am thinking about this.
