Great post Rock
I tought there was no life after cigarrettes, and voila, life is wonderful without the addiction!. Life is simpler now.
I don't have to take care of my addiction nor feed it anymore!
I love my nonsmoking life.

My name is Rock.  I quit smoking 1 year ago today.  To all of you who helped me get to this point, I cannot thank you enough.  I have an appointment with my oncologist in 2 weeks for a 6 month checkup.  She had a chat with me on August 18, 2008 and told me that I needed to quit smoking.  Tumors, cysts, and blood clots aren't fun.  Coumadin pills at 10 pm est every night, Lovenox shots in the stomach 2x a day to thin my blood, restricted diet, and weekly blood work and tests at the cancer clinic aren't much fun either.  She convinced me that living was more important than smoking.  I had my last cigarette on August 19 before I went to bed, and I woke up August 20 and haven't smoked a cigarette since.

I urge everybody who is on the fence....please don't wait until your doctor has a similar chat with you.  I am lucky.  My results came back non-cancerous.  I want your results to come back the same.  Actually, I don't want you to ever have to go through what I went through.  Please quit smoking today.  Do whatever it takes.  If it takes you 10 times, thats ok.  Just don't smoke.  I want everybody out there who is on the fence to choose August 20, 2010 as their quit date.   That's today.  But please don't do it for me, or anybody else.  Do it for you.  Then next year at this time we all can celebrate our freedom!

No need to reply to this posting.  Just think about it.  You are important.  Living is more important than smoking.  Trust me!
