BJ. Please accept my apology. I do not wish to put anyone down. Everyone is different and their needs will change throughout their quits. This was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life and am grateful tjhat I've made it this far. I wish you the strength to go on each and every day. Remeber to stay strong and do whatever it takes to just not smoke each and every day. Before you know it it will get easier and you will find happiness again. It took about 3 months for me to finally start feeling happy again. I will never let my guard down as the demon still tries to creep up on me, but the thoughts leave just as fast as they came these days. Best of luck. Stay strong - stay quit. Well said Jasat and may I say, I like your style. It's nice to have the fluffy talk once in awhile, but in order to beat this thing, you have to get tough and stay tough or you will not make it. Thanks for keeping it real!! Jaset, missed chatting with you. I'm glad someone wrote a "tough love" post finally. I fully agree with the "i'm scare" analogy. Unfortunately, it was written too late for me. I am not scared this time and look forward to it. I didn't go through hell or heck week and it doesn't bother me that I'm not going thru the process like I should be. Got more important things to worry about like beating cancer. I dont like seeing people say "i'll try' or "i'm not sure i can do this". well better do it before its too late. I am glad you didnt hold back in your writing. Also, keep writing those tobacco companies (last time we talked you were on a roll). Miss chatting with you on im. take care and everyone listen ! You know when I first read this post I was sort of taken aback too. But the logical thinker in me said...yea I bet that's how you felt when you first quit, right? I bet you whined your way through too. Well, crapola, I did a search on Jaset and I'll be darned he had a great attitude right from the get go. Okay, okay lesson learned for this bird getting ready to take flight! Dang! Told me didn't you! I will read and re-read as soon as I start to feel sorry for myself. However, I only feel sorry for the slave that I am right now because she will be no longer! Jaset, as I was reading your recent post about your Mom it really hit me that I REALLY don't want my lil 18 year old daughter to ever have to be "sat" down. I won't dwell on "what if it is too late" I will cherish...what if its not. This is an awesome post! You haven't said anything except the truth here. Sometimes it takes a good swift kick to get going or to hang on to the quit. Quitting is possible. As long as you don't light that next cigarette you are doing great. Smoking kills. Period. Thank you for a great post.
