Marivi you are to cute. Unfortunately  I have been down this road way to many times, but your reminders made me smile& giggle &  remember.

The cookies were sooooooooooo good and I let hubby have 3, now that is something to be proud of.  My emotions have level off for now.  Days 8-10 have always been hard for me, we will not let them be difficult this time, right?

Oh, I almost forgot.  Carpet man came over to look at the job we had for him.  He wreaked of cigarette smoke so much that I had to spray the room when he left.    One of the reason I do not want to smoke.  I like to smell good and I do now, thank you very much

Mmmmmmmm Yummmmmy!
I love those cookies. You can see it this way: You are eating them to support two wonderful causes: the girl scouts and your quit!
I also experienced that hunger for the first month. I ate like a teenager!. Bad thing I don't have a teen's metabolism
But I tried to eat popcorn and pretzels and weight watchers desserts and I was succesful managing control damage. I llok at it with a positive attitude: I'm less wrinkled! LOL Just kidding.
Don't worry about your weight! You are improving your health! You have a lot of time to shed the extra pounds! Don't worry about the weight gain! I know it is hard to do it, but you can do it!  An enjoy your cookies.
Please read this:

After 20 minutes of yout quit
You begin looking for loopholes in your quit commitment, thinking about postponing the whole arrangement until after the next millenium begins.

After 8 hours.

You have already contemplated at least three murders and several other brutal acts of violence.

After 24 Hours.

Your city or town declares a mysterious and unforeseen water shortage, while municipal sewers are suddenly overwhelmed.

After one week.

You have consumed enough calories to sustain a Bengali village of 2000 for four years. Food shortages become critical within your region; pets and local wild animals become nervous.

After two weeks.

Quitzits establish early outposts on your face. Risk of Browser`s Butt Syndrome (BBS) rises to equal that for 13-year-old boys with new computers and internet access. Smileys appear in your writing and begin to replicate :)

Within one month.

You have already begun to pester smokers and complain about the smell of their obnoxious cigarettes; IQ returns to low double-digits; Quitzits begin to function autonomously. Exclamation point shortages prevail across the land.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After six weeks

You may have experienced your first bowel movement since your quit began; if not, be patient, it will happen within a few more weeks.

After two months.

You begin to forget the pain and misery of the first week without cigarettes, and are wondering if you could, perhaps, remind yourself of what you`ve been missing; Quitzits establish territorial treaties with each other.

After five months.

Intelligence returns to at least 60% of its pre-quit level; concentration remains a problem, at only 50%; carpal tunnel syndrome incidence exceeds all known levels for any keyboard-intensive occupation; you have typed more words than are contained within all the works of William Shakespeare, but with more flair and `sparkle`.

After six months.
You wonderwhy you ever waited so long to quit
Hugs
Marivi

The mental is the hardest for me.........I'm relishing in the fact that I am in control now and the addict is not.  But he puts up a heckuva fight.
I stay here cause it helps me more than it does the others sparky..

Sparky, I'm with you on the cookies.  If they are the mint ones, I cannot eat one. I have to eat the whole box.

Be nice to you.

Yesterday went well.  Today a little edgy, but will get though it.  No craves, just mental   I said I would post and that is what I am trying to do.  No desire to smoke, just the physical and re changing habits again.  Right now I am eating my way through half a box of girl scout cookies, yum, yum.

Sparky,

Changing your behaviours and daily habits can definitely be a barrier to a smoke-free life. However, it sounds like you have all of your quit strategies in place to make this last!

Good luck Sparky, you can do this!

Glad to hear that promise, Sparky. No shame in saying the junkie thoughts are getting to you. There are plenty of people who will give a balance to those thoughts...or slap you silly if that's what you need. Don't forget to pamper yourself a little, okay?
