breather,

You are absolutely correct, there will be difficult times but our own memories and inspirations can motivate us in incredible ways.

Thank you again for sharing your story with us.

Hello Jan , Jazz , moss , Faryal , Karren , Henny Penny , and Kelly. Hope everyone's having a good day. This is the first thread that I've started since joining. I guess pretty well everyone ends up with a box full of photos to look through that says " this is your life " , or more than that " this was ". Some fond memories and some not so fond. The birthdays , days at the beach , days when you couldn't wait to get up and get going. Days that seemed endless. Or the negatives of the failed marraige , no , don't think I'll duplicate them. Not today anyway.  Like father , like son. He quit smoking because he couldn't breathe and now here I am the exact same. Go figure. But it is good to take a stroll down memory lane once in a while. A picture is worth a thousand words and what's left unsaid speaks volumes. I come here to not smoke. There's one thing I want though and that's to be happy not doing it.  I think the worst is over now. There will be times but nothing like at the start. So thank you everyone for all you do , you're the best quitters I know. breather 56 Addict still 0

Breather,

I to like to remember my childhood, it reminded (s) me of a time that I was happy and free as a non smoker.  It puts you in the right frame of mind to remember that you can function without the smoke.  I am sorry about your dad, but you are right, he did give himself an extra 15 years.

Congratulations on making this far...
