Hi Becky & welcome to the SSC!

Congrats on your great decsion to stop smoking! There is great advice and great reading in many of the old posts. I have found lots of ice water, deep breaths and much time on this site has been most helpful...

So, welcome & just remember it's N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Ever)--that's the way to stay quit:)

Welcome to the SSC, Becky.  There are few rules on this site and you'll find those explained by the moderators at the outset Home page. Many people, including myself, have gone off topic in a thread by talking to another member and not to the one who commenced the thread. Please don't let this bother you. It can take a short while to get used to how the forums work. Some people can be "territorial" about "their" space. Please don't be insulted or put off... we are all very supportive people in here and all we want is for you to be successful in your Quit.... Set up your Quit Meter and tell us a bit more about yourself!

WELCOME Becky to the SSC. Thot I would start this for you so others could answer you and you could find it easier. I am so glad you have come here and found things that will help you. That is what we are about here. There's a lot of good and caring people here and if you follow their advice I am sure you can remain smoke free I see you set 8-4-08 as your quit date. If you set up the quit meter it will track your quit days and show life gained by not smoking. I am sorry about your mother, my mother too has COPD and just had cancer surgery last month. I am plagued with health problems too and have no business smoking. SSOOO, we can do this. Just say NOPE
Good Luck,
Pupikat
