Sparky, that was a beautiful honest thing to do to share like that.  I really like Rusty's post, she is so right, very soon you will have all that quit wonder back again and this fresh memory to help hold you steady, and all our hands to hold on to also.

Sue

Hi Sparky
Glad to see you get back on it. We do in one minute think that the white thing will be the cure for everything. When we have
been so brain washed about it. I will be joining you soon. I had no were close to the time in and am very sorry I gave it up.
To start back all over again, but this has to be my last start and stop. I will have to make it this time. We all know you can
do it. I can't be on the train this time but will join everybody so. DJ

Glad I could help, sorry I lost my quit, but glad it did others well.

Goofy, I don't care where the train goes.  I will meet you Sunday morning for a fresh cup of coffee.  Yes, I do care.  How about somewhere the air is crisp and fresh and the sun is shining and all it well with the world.  That would be wonderful.  Now where would that be???  You and the others name the place and I will be there.

ML, so glad you didn't cave.  I have smoked over 50 years and I am no youngster so just hang on and you will be just fine.  You are giving yourself a wonderful gift, don't let go of it.

HP I am looking forward to getting to know you.  BJ you got it right, just don't forget there is not such thing as a puff, EVER.  Jazz, I am coming back soon and you better hold on to your quit.  Don't do what I did, you can do this I know it.  You have come so far and I have loved watching you get your days in.  Karen I have been watching you too.  I can't believe that you have over a 100 days.  Good job.

I will see you all on Sunday.

Keep the Quit
Sparky

You are so precious and blessed, my dear. Please remember:  smoking does not make you a bad person or a failure. Yes, it is an addiction, but it doesn't change the value of YOU. I know your heart is aching so, but each day and every day it gets stronger and stronger.

Focus on this:  Beginning on your very first day, your heart rate will start going down.  On your second day, you will smell sweet again. On your third day, the nicotine will be gone. On the fourth day, you will be breathing easier on your walks. On the fifth day, your zest will start coming back. On the sixth day, you will say "Yes, I am doing it!"  And on the seventh day, you will celebrate your week and you will do something good for yourself.  So much to look forward to!

But right now, one day at a time.

Sparky - When you posted in another thread that you had slipped, I was flabbergasted as I was hanging in there and fighting every step of the way to make my year.  I started to wonder whether or not I could do it, or if I wanted to do it.  My age, the many, many years I had smoked, just why was I giving it all up?  Rather than light a cigarette, I decided to think on it and am glad I did after reading this thread of what your slip cost you and and what you learned from it.  So, I'll keep trudging on and thanking you for leading the way in so many ways.  And, yes, you have been blessed for helping many in so many different ways - even the slip.

Sparky,

Thank you so much for sharing with us. In terms of what you have learned from your slip, I think that every word you said is true. I am sure that your words helped more people than you know. It is so wonderful to see that you have learned from you slip, and you present such a positive attitude, which will be very helpful during your quit!
As you know, we are always here for you, rooting for you every step of the way!

Hugs, hugs and more hugs.    Thank you for sharing.    I have not caved... I have had thoughts, some desire, some urges  I cant say I have huge BAD craves.. more I wants....

The difference in this quit?    This site,  all of you?   I could just walk away.. I joined a site a few years ago,, was only there a week or 2 during my quit... then I disappeared.

I know I am only one puff away... I remind myself and see it here.   I think  my life is "Easier" not smoking... I dedicated this quit to my mother in law ( who was diagnosed with lung cancer) the day I started Chanix..... and to my grandson ... who has been asking me to quit for years.

Sparky ... you are an amazing person.. so please don't lose your self esteem.  You have been a great supporter and you had a great quit, and you will do it again.

This just shows... Yes it is an addiction,  and Most of us can't be "just" social smokers....   We are human... and make mistakes, wrong choices.. wrong turns.  Don't beat yourslef up...... you know the "program" and know we are here for our dear friend..   just hold out your hand  ......
