I REALLY NEED ADVISE...I AM GETTING SCARED

Hi Anx. I worked for a Dr before. You need to let the recptionist know you NEED to be seen soon.. they usually have some emergency appointments available. Don't be shy about it.. TELL them you are having some emotional/anxiety problems and YOU NEED TO BE SEEN... within the next couple days.. IF NOT today. YOU can ask to speak to the Dr's nurse or the triage nurse.. and explain your situation. Receptionists are the first line of "defense" in a Dr's office so YOU have to get thru that and make them understand this is NOT routine. Thanks everyone. I am going to call my regular dr., it's just that it takes forever to get into her. I have been seeing our certified nurse practitioner provided by the company I work for. Just talking to you all has made me feel better today, so please, keep chatting, I check in every few min to read what you say. It really helps. Thanks all. Danielle, I know I should not do that with the meds. I did that like three years ago with the wellbutrin and went into setotonin rage...not good, very dangerous. Thanks for the reminder. Do you have another Dr to phone, this one doesn NOT seem very helpful. I had a stroke, felt like i was ADD and some depression from stroke problems I was on Cymbalta... it has really helped me... without a bunch of other side effects. I also have Xanax (alprazolam) I usually take 1 about an hour before bedtime... to help get my mind to settle down .. or turn off for sleep. I take 1/2 table up to 3 times a day for anxiety. ( i seldome need them but if I do I use 1/2 tablet. many people take a whole tablet. I went to a vitamin store... I am on B-100 it has most of the B's and at a higher dose than from the grocery store (it is a complex as it has most of the B's) I am also taking Lecithin ... the gel caps from soy oil. I take Calcium with magnesium and Zinc (as I have osteoporosis) the calcium is also a GEL cap for easier absorption. I got the book "Miracle Medicine Foods" by Rex Adams. Since I quit smoking... I have started to look at some natural food and herbs.. this is something new.. as I had always worked in the medical field. I believe there is room for both. and sometimes we need to get things/ chemicals in our bodies more in balance. Anxious, Deep breath in! First off, Effexor needs to be taken correctly and weaned off if you want to stop taking it. For Effexor to work, you must take it over a length of time as it takes a few weeks for full effects to show. If you have questions or concerns, we strongly encourage you to speak to your doctor or pharmacist before you begin your treatment. Sporadically taking Effexor is strongly not recommended and can be dangerous. If you need additional assistance with panic or depression, we have sister sites that are available to you: www.paniccenter.net www.depressioncenter.net Hope this helps. OK sorry I did go back to the other thread. If you are going thru a bad period of anxiety and depression, getting off of the smokes or any other addictions you have is absolutely the best thing you could have done. I have not experience these problems in my life. My daughter has the same issues I believe and she has found the medication to be awful for her so she just doesn't take them. I wish I could be more help, but I am here if you need to just talk and cry. Get on the Instant messenger and I'll chat with you. I started a new thread instead of the slump one. I was off of work last fri and the weekend sucked. the doctor perscribed some medication, I can't Xeffeor or something? Well, this is the third time in about 10 years they have tried to give me something. I was so scarred, and like I thought, my body felt like it was on fire and and I couldn't move. I called the pharmacist, they said ok to cut in half, so second dose, I cut it into fourths and took only a fourth of it, still no good. Took nothing on Sat, then tried two fourths yesterday, it was somewhat ok, but woke up this AM with anxiety. Called my doc right away this am to tell her how I have a problem with my meds, I needed help. She said to call a therapist, she didn't think any meds would help. I am really afraid you guys, really scarred, somebody please help.
