Shoggy, You've got some good advice below. If these symptoms persist or becoming uncomfortable at any time, please consult with your doctor. Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator

I am new at this- I didn't realize it 'replied all' sorry! Thanks to all for replies. My dreams have been quite strange and not so fun at times. I hope they improve. What's crazy is I slept an hour through my alarm this morning because of a dream I was having. Crazy I tell ya! At least my work is laid back about it.

Thanks for replying! I think the consensus is to eat and drink water and not to lie down when taking the stronger pills. Wow, 45 days that's great. Do you feel better?

Hi Sue, Yes I am on Chantix also.. I know quite a few here stopped after 20 or 30 days.. I did read that the full 12 weeks has a better success rate of "staying" quit. I had brighter more colorful dreams.. but not weird or scarey. I haven't noticed them the last few days. The nausea (and constipation) can be a problem.. Make sure you take it with food, and the glass of water.. I try not to lie down or bend over for about 10 minutes either.. I have increased my fiber.. I also am doing 1/2 tablet in the morning and 1/2 at night.. I called the Dr's office and that was fine with them.. So I am 45 days into my quit.. I have days when I have "pop-up" craves.. they are not strong.. just sometimes persistent. I am swattint them away like annoying mosquitoes or flies.. I am also reading a lot of posts watching my stat meter.. and I DO NOT want to see a 0 on it ..unless it has another number in front of it.... I am also readin the "Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit" book. Good job... I had dreams too in the beginning but they went away after a month or so. I never had a cough (that I can remember). I never noticed myself getting naseated which is wierd because I have a really sensitive stomach. For the first month, I always ate a good amount of food with each pill, then as time went on, I started taking it on an empty stomach and it never bothered me. When I went off of it, three weeks ago, I noticed cravings coming on. I don't know if it was real or in my head. I am still going strong and believe that Chantix saved my quit...keep going!! Sue, Congratulations on your decison to quit smoking! I have been taking Chantix for over 4 weeks and think that it is the greatest! I am not big on taking meds of any kind but I do plan to follow the plan for the whole 12 weeks, I don't want to take any chances of slipping up. Yes, the dreams are crazy, but fun, don't you think? The only time I felt nauseous was when I took the pill in the morning with no food, trust me I will never do that again. It doesn't have to be a large meal, just a piece of fruit or toast. I coughed more the first 3 weeks of my quit than I did in all my years of smoking, I'm guessing the same thing as you, the lungs healing. Now in my 4th week I don't notice much coughing. Hang in there, it will get better with time, but for now enjoy the crazy dreams! And stay close to the SSC. Hi there, I had my last cigarette this past Saturday (March 22). I had a few questions I wanted to ask those of you who have or are taking Champix. Did you have crazy dreams? Did the pills make you nauseous? I can tell the pill is definitely blocking my nicotine receptors, so once you are off the pill, are you no longer addicted to nicotine or will you feel the need for it again? Lastly, I have a brutal tickle/cough going on and I suspect it's my lungs trying to heal- did anyone else experience this? If so, how long does it last? Thanks! Sue
