That was three months ago and despite the time that has gone by, I still feel the same way, but with a difference.
I am still turned forward, looking to the future. I have had a day or two where I have had a glimpse of the future to come! I am feeling emotions I had forgotten existed. And I still can't believe how much damage that drug can do.
But the new me is emerging. It is subtle, it is sneaking up on me a bit each day. It surprises me. I smile more, I laugh more. I am more at ease, I am more relaxed. I am calmer. I am even more excited about the days to come....can that meter go any faster?
So look to the future, keep your eyes on the horizon, say goodbye and close the door to that old smoker you were and open up your heart and your new door to the new you emerging......it is coming.....and the journey is far from over .......... :)
