Welcome Astrofan ;) Best wishes and congrats on your decision. Hope to talk with you often as you make this journey to freedom from the nicodemon. Take one minute at a time when necessary. Come to the SSC as often as you can to see that this can certainly be accomplished and how many others are getting through this. YIPEEEEE -- we are non-smokers..... :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 360 Amount Saved: $81.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 48 Seconds: 8

OK Astrofan! Way to go! You can get through this. If I can do it..anyone can. I smoked for 35 years, and the last 8 years was 2 packs a day. I gets easier everyday. Hi Astrofan. Welcome! I'm glad to hear you cruised through day 1 - very impressive. I just finished my 10 week patch program and found they worked really well. I noticed a huge difference on my treadmill after about 1 week. The lung capacity and stamina were great surprises after such a short time. It's only gotten better since. I'm only up 5 pds, but I don't have a large frame so I'm quite conscious about it. I'm really starting to buckle in on the weight machine and t-mill to get rid of it before summer comes. Congrats to you and I hope Day 2 goes as well as Day 1 for you. hi folks , well i was supposed to start last friday , and a lot of you gave me support , but friday night came and so did the beer and poker game so i cracked like a bad egg and fired up the smokes. i was kind of ticked off at myself so i decided that my start date would be wednesday 3/12 to coincide with the fitness plan i've been on since the first of the year.i've lost 25 lbs since 1/1/2008 and my fitness week starts on wednesdays so yesterday was the day. i put on my patch and cruised through day 1. yes it was a little tough but i made it and i'm very glad , now it's day 2 and i'm gonna make it today also. my 45 minutes on the treadmill last night was easier with my lungs less stressed and i feel great this morning. thanks for your support , i'm gonna make it this time , i thank god for that and ask for his help.
