Hello all... I have been reading posts here since before my quit date, and really found inspiration here! I am also on the 21mg patch and am VERY concerned about my step down to 14mg coming in the next few weeks.
Faith, doodles, and anyone else who has successfully quit with the patch, can you give me any pointers to prepare? I read in one post that it's a 3-4 day adjustment to the step-down... I've been contemplating getting some NRT gum for 'emergency' purposes. I know it's 'cheating', but I will not smoke and I am afraid if the urge is too strong, I will have 'just one' or 'smoke just tonight' and I know that will lead to a pack a day.
I will NOT except failure! N.O.P.E.
I, like many others here, have had many failed quits in the past, and the NRT step-down has been a stumbling point for me in some of those failures. This time, I want to be prepared for the physical withdrawl symptoms and I also NEVER want to re-set my counter here. It is amazing to me how much determination those statistics give me.
I imagine there's no special 'tricks' for the step-down vs. the normal techniques of diversion... But, any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks and Good Luck Jan!
Tina
