Jacqui, this addiction doesn't die easily. I'm over a year and I still have cravings.
Oh well...
Everyone puts up with some unpleasantness in life... bill collectors, arguments with spouses/mates, conflicts with children, employers, coworkers... etc. We struggle to learn our lessons in school, we overcome emotional pain in the process of growing up...
The way I look at it, this is just one more thing that I have to sometimes deal with in order to get where I want to be. Are the benefits worth it? Yes, for me they are. When I'm in the thick of the struggle it may not seem as though they are... but they are. I know that.
When I was where you are, I felt like I was in the doldrums. It didn't really feel like anything was happening. I wasn't smoking, but I didn't really feel like I was making forward progress either. But that takes time. And it's different for everyone.
For me though, it probably took 8 months before I really started to see the hands on the clock move. Now, it's quite pronounced. I can really see my progress these days.
And you will too.
Hang in there! :)
