Wheezer, You own your quit - no-one else. So whilst people may offer advise and in with the best intentions, you need to do what is right for you. I know that you must be feeling pretty anxious about all this. It is normal to feel a whole host of emotions before you quit. It is good to spend some time in the reflection and planning stage. Certainly learning about addiction and why we smoke helps increase your knowledge, and knowledge reduces fear. Wheezer, Just read your post and I do understand how you feel, to me whatever your plan is it is the right one for you, I was told alot to just pick a date, and a person never has the right perfect time to quit, but guess what I did what I felt was right for me and it has now been 10 mo. I have made many friends here and without them it has made it much easier, well not easier it has helped to keep me on track when I have felt weak. I do have IM here if you want to talk let me know. I wish you the best. hugs, prayers, pixie dust Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 310 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,300 Amount Saved: $775.00 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 7 Mins: 32 Seconds: 34

I am 55 years old and it has taken me a very long time to get to this point of deciding to QUIT smoking....I am feeling a bit stressed by some of the I'm sure well meaning advise I've been getting from members of this forum......mainly people who have been telling me things like ..1. your quit date is too long 2. that I am not using Champix correctly and did I speak to my Doc..... etc. etc. I have laid out a plan that I think will work for me and I appreciate that we are all different.......I did talk to my Doc about the champix and using it for longer than the recommended two weeks is fine according to her.........My point being I am thrilled to hear about what worked for you but my plan is different and it will work for me too...........I really do want to read and hear about what worked for you but what I really do not want to hear about is how my plan is not a good one..........We all are different and I guess that is why our plans are all so diffenent......please be considerate of the fact that I have taken the first step and that is to become smoke free like so many of you have already done..........Please try and understand where I am coming from and please continue to share in a way that does not make me feel like I am going about this all wrong.....feeling a bit down in the dumps about the whole thing tonight.......
