Who are the Febuary 07 Quitters?

Brakit, you're doing great with your quit. Up to 5 days already!! It won't be long and you'll be out of the first week known as "Hell Week." It was too wasn't it? I just finished up Hell Week and it has been hard. But I'm not turning back now. I will never go through those withdrawals again. The third day for me was the pits. I mean, it was pure hell. Up alone in the middle of the night is hard. Keep reading posts and drinking that water. I mean lots of water. It really helps with the cravings. Remember, you don't want a cigarette. YOU really want to stay quit. It's that addict part of you that's craving it's fix. Tell it to take hike. Get mad at that addict. It helps to get mad because you'll feel in charge and you'll blow off steam at the same time. Just try it and you'll see. Don't give up. It will get easier. Keep talking to us. We're here for you and just look at how many cigarettes you have NOT smoked. You're doing a hell of a job here. Changing, Keep hanging in there and if you need to vent, scream, whatever, I'm right here along with the rest of the folks on this site. Day 3 is a LULU isn't it? If you look under Withdrawal Symptoms, you'll find my post called Gloom, Despair, and Agony on Me. I posted that when I was on Day 3 and it was horrible. I had to get on this site and vent and get feedback before I caved in. I was so afraid I was about to cave but at the same time, I wanted to hang in there with everything I had. Are you drinking a lot of water? I mean, as much water as you can stand and especially when those cravings hit? Make sure you do, okay? I'm on Day 9 and still have to drink a lot of water but on Day 1 through 4, everytime I moved it sounded like the waves coming in. lol Do you have your gum, hard candy, soft candy, straws, toothpicks, sunflower seeds, peanuts, etc. to help with that hand to mouth thing? As soon as you get home from work, shed the clothes, take a hot shower, grab a bite, and settle in with a bottle of water and your snacks. Try to sleep as much as you can, when you can. Your body is healing with each and every crave......with each and every withdrawal symptom. Breath in slowly through your nose and out through your mouth, pause, and do it again during those anxiety attacks. Don't panic, be aware that your body is healing. And if you talk about what you're feeling, it helps. Okay? Hang in there and we're all with you!! You're doing great and have a wonderful attitude. Changing, I know it's soooo hard. It really is unbelievable how hard this is. I'm on Day 9 today and woke up with a horrible craving. The withdrawal symptoms like the shakiness and hot flashes were gone by Day 4. But the cravings come and go....then they bear down hard. We could do without the anxiety on top of all the rest, couldn't we? This is WAR!! lol I don't know about you but I get real tired of thinking about a cigarette, reminding myself that I no longer smoke, thinking of things to do when the crave hits, thinking, thinking, thinking. The thinking thing gets a little maddening. Keep venting. Okay? That's really important because you have to blow off steam. I'll be here and I know the rest of the folks on the site are here for you too. Do your deep breathing too when a crave hits. In through the nose slowly and then out through the mouth slowly. That and water really got me through those first days.....and talking to people on this site. Keep hanging in there. You CAN do this and we're all here for you. HA HA HA HA HA Oh, I know what you mean there too!! I can't believe how much I've eaten but it's mainly roughage. It's amazing how nicotine messed up how our bodies are suppose to work. Now we have to ride it out until everything gets back in working order. Hey, your meter is very impressive!! We're right here together. We'll hang in there together and I know we can do this. Oh man, those cravings are exhausting but we'll take one crave at a time and one day at a time. I think I've been looking too far ahead into the future and letting my quit overwhelm me. Just one crave and one day, right? Granted, it's like hanging onto a bear's butt for one day but, we'll hang on tight. If you quit smoking this month, sign up here. I found it really helpful before knowing who quit around the same time as me, and it helped to watch their progress. I dont know if this has been done already? Does everyone who quit this month want to sign up to support each other along the way? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 154 Amount Saved: 45 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 7 Seconds: 37
