We're here, and we're FEB-U-LOUS!!!

I've decided...I've become one of those people that needs somebody to be mad at--at all times. Currently not mad at hubby (too busy being too mad at someone else). What you said really grabbed me, Legend. Finding his legs and not spinning his wheels and stuff. But at this point, I'm willing to let it go because he's got way too much stress at his job. I know how I feel about my nights out as a way to de-stress. If, for the moment, going out one night a week blowing off steam by having a couple cigarettes while we're out makes him feel better, I'm ok with that...FOR NOW. One thing at a time. Once he gets out of his miserable job, then we'll work on staying smoke-free. I need to be more supportive of him overall and try to take away some of his stress rather than add to it. I know, I know...who am I and what have I done with Nursey? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 65 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 977 Amount Saved: $292.5 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 15 Mins: 16 Seconds: 24

Nurse, I tried that for a while. I smoked 1-2 days a week. Spent the rest of the week in withdrawal. I was the nastiest, meanest jerk to walk the face of the earth. BUT, in the long run, it led me to the realization that I can't control my addiction, and then my quit. So if Hubby is a two-toned tank, remember he is going through Hell Week every week, and hopefully, at some point, he'll find his feet and start walking. Instead of spinning his wheels. Man, he will be so happy... Legend, you and your brown rice are really cracking me up. Good way of looking at things I guess. I should explain that hubby only smokes when we go out for pool night or are otherwise drinking with other smokers. He doesn't buy cigarettes or anything like that. I just feel like if he can be a non-smoker 5-6 days a week, why not 7? It's not like he's hiding in back alleys and corners all the time sneaking smokes (although that's a funny visual!). Can I call it a dinner party now? Not only is MomMom coming, but my mom-in-law and her boyfriend are coming too. I'm making chicken parm (I'm going to try to cut calories somewhere--kind of have to since MIL is bringing cheesecake!!!). MIL is a smoker, so I guess I'll have to put a bucket on the patio and hope her son doesn't follow her out the door... I wish everyone a happy Friday...it's dismal here. ~Nurse My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 967 Amount Saved: $288 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 14 Mins: 11 Seconds: 2

Whoa, MomMom, that is the best! You should be so proud of yourself and your girls, you obviously raised strong women like yourself! Have a blast, enjoy the smoke free dinner. As for myself, today's rice is "Ravioli Brown Rice," and dessert is Vanilla Brown Rice. Great job, Nurse. I'm sorry about the hubby's quit but he'll quit when he's ready. Glad everything is fine. Got through pool night smoke-free. Hubby did not. Told him I stopped caring about his quit (though everyone knows this is false). Explained my upset with the fact that I heeded his "I'm ready to quit whenever you are" call and he did not. Loud fight in car ensued. Hubby under stress. Decided I should be more supportive, everything fine now. That's as concise as I can be. Have a great (smoke-free) day everyone! Good morning all. No cigs in sight around here. Detox diet update: Getting used to being hungry. Thinking up different names for brown rice. Today's brown rice is going to be called "Chiliburger Brown Rice." Big excitement tonight, gonna switch to wild rice. But I'm actually sleeping through the night!!! I can't tell you what a relief that is. I've been suffering sleep deprivation since about the second week of my quit. As long as I don't start having dreams about smoking rice, I'll do ok. Nobody smoke today, ok? The forest around here's already getting pretty thin, we don't need anymore strong, healthy trees dropping. Big hugs to all. I wouldn't be here without you.
