Hi Dan and welcome to the site! The first thing to do is set your quit date and then start reading everything you can here to help you with your quit and withdrawls. Like you mentioned, this site is great and is has helped me tremendously, the support from people here is awesome, as well as the people. Read as much as your can, get informed and work on the "milestones". I am just down the road from you in London. My first time quitting also. Better sooner than later. It's not easy, but this is coming from someone who didn't even want to quit in the first place - it can be done. Hope to see you around lots, come here to update and ask for help when you need it! Hello Dan! How are things in Toronto? You will be so glad that you have quit. You may question yourself in the beginning but, stay strong and keep the quit. It really is worth it. We are here for you. And yes, there are some pretty cool quitters here with alot of knowledge, kindness and great laughs! (they sure keep me grinning!) ;p G My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 186 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,580 Amount Saved: $892.80 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 4 Mins: 42 Seconds: 27

Dan The Man, welcome, and get prepared by shifting where you smoke and buying lower nicotine cigarettes after each pack (no idea what your nicotine strength is right now?) between here and the 13 Feb. Why the 13 th Feb? Just curious.... Imagine how much more power you will be able to put into the windlass when the Spring/Summer comes this year... I'm assuming that that super rig there doesn't have a powered crank?? Keep reading on this site everyday - read the threads and post whatever you're feeling about quitting and how your preparations are going... Welcome Dan! We encourage you to browse through your glove compartment. You'll find lots of great exercises and educational information on quitting. It will also help you plan ahead for strong triggers such as stress and emotions. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator
