Kelly, I got this Mantra from Leslie, although she is not sure where it came from either. But it really resonates with me too: "I would rather be an ex smoker occasionally thinking of smoking, than a smoker constantly thinking of quitting." Welcome Terry! This is the best place to quit. We have all been there. Terry, no time like the present!!! I know that apprehension well though. Spend some time getting ready then, read here a lot. Get some fresh fruit, veg, sour jelly bellies, etc....ready to go, cold water really helps, I read a whole author backlist, some 40 books when I quit - and your quit reasons. Keep them visible and handy. lovely pic of you :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 264 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,640 Amount Saved: $462.00 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 17 Mins: 43 Seconds: 26

Terry - There is someone here, and I apologize for not being able to give proper credit, who says something like, "I'd rather be a quitter occasionally thinking about smoking than a smoker constantly thinking about quitting." I find this to be true. When I smoked I felt horrible all the time. Like I was a failure who couldn't just quit smoking and stop killing myself. I think this may be what is going on in your mind now. It changes once you quit. Although you will think about quitting and smoking and everything related to smoking and quitting for a while after you quit, it's a much better thought process than the former. And, you get to feel so proud and so relieved to finally be on the other side of the fence! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 150 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,500 Amount Saved: $877.50 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 13 Mins: 5 Seconds: 49
