Killing me Softly
As I begun to awaken this morning, dark out, 5:30 a.m., I heard this little man talking from inside my chest. He said, in a frightened, small and soft voice, Stickin I miss you and Im afraid Im dying. He said you and I go way back together since childhood please dont let me go, I need you. I laid there thinking about this poor little guy begging for help and I thought how could I still keep this little man in my life without smoking.
By quitting I have learned Im not able to walk in the smoking mans shoes again. I like the way the new pair fits, they are real nice. Im sorry to ditch you bud, seeing how long we have been together but I must say to you, you were killing me softly in the relationship that we have had since childhood.
