Sounds like being with your friend is a big trigger for you. Not surprising if the two of you used to smoke together all the time. So, next time you plan on seeing him prepare yourself. It can be as simple as just being aware of the association you have with smoking and him, or like others have said, have a bottle of water handy, some mints, something else to do with your hands and/or mouth. You could also let him know and ask him to not, under any circumstances, give you a cigarette. Now you're seeing what this quitting business is all about. Good for you!
