Frustrated!

Marlboro girl Congratulations on making a great choice for yourself. The sad thing about smoking is that as we did it we were blind to the effects of the addiction. This made it oh so easy to keep on walking down nicotine street. However, the ultimate effects are cummulative and eventually the devil seeks his due. Quitting at your age is about the smartest thing you will ever do for yourself. But I won't lie to you, it takes grit, determination and a whole lot of soul searching to get it done. The good news is that once you reach a point where smoking becomes a real choice, you will wonder why you ever smoked in the first place. That is how much of a mind game the addiction really is. So good luck to you, read as much as you can and post often. Many people here will invest in your quit. nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 304 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,120 Amount Saved: $3,192.00 Life Gained: Days: 55 Hrs: 13 Mins: 37 Seconds: 20

Hi, The only way to quit is to commit to not smoking and then stop. You have to want to quit. Actually, you need to get yourself excited about the "new" non smoking you. Get the attitude that you GET to quit...not GOT to quit. Believe me.....being on the fence is MUCH harder than getting of the fence (on the right side). Don't leave a way out. The word try doesn't exist. It has to be...."I WILL NOT SMOKE!" You really can do this. I know you can. Yep, Like casey said...do the preparations here..and get some inspiration from all the successful quitters here. Many of us smoked longer than you have been alive. So, if we can do it, you surely can. It would be a wonderful gift for your kids, and of course for you. Let us know if you have any questions or need some help. I think you'll find many people willing to help you if you're serious about quitting.
