So good to "see" you post. Pam, whatever works for you then do it. I was one of the hard a$$e$ when it came to the meter thing, sorry. A while back I chatted with a current member and that person put a new outlook on the meter and quit and how it work for them. Thank God I am still teachable. I have been hard headed and it has made my quits that much harder. I understand now that it is a personal choice. I get it "personal". My quit belongs to me and your quit belongs to you. We are here to help and encourage one another and that is what you have and continue to do. Hey all! It's been a LONG time since I've posted here, so I thought I'd stop by and say hello. Just wanted to let everyone know how I'm doing. Yes, I AM smoke free! (WOO HOO!) :) But I'm trying something a little different. I'm simply not smoking. OK, you're probably all thinking, "DUH! That's what we're ALL doing here!!!" Well, what I mean by that is that I tend to get a LITTLE obsessed with the number of days on the meter, how many cigarettes I haven't smoked, how much money I've saved, etc, etc, etc... and the problem with that is what I learned from the last time is that I tend to get really upset about how many days I WOULD have had if I hadn't blown it and had to reset, upset about how far others are and wishing that I were there too, and upset about when some people don't reset and I did, which was kinda a slap in the face, yada, yada, yada... basically, all very childish things that I would worry about and make the quit a million times harder! So now, I'm not keeping track at all. I have no idea when the last time I had a cigarette was but It's been at least a month, maybe a month and a half, since I've had any smokes at all. I'm simply not smoking and not worrying about any of the other stuff. Seems to be working for me A LOT better than the old way. You know the saying, "whatever works, just don't smoke!" Well, that's what I'm doing. As for other stuff, student teaching is going great! I'm 1/2 way done and will have my certification in just 2 months! YEAH! My life has been hectic, but good! Hope everyone else is doing well too. I've missed so many of you and think about you often! I wish everyone the best! Pam
