Hey all! It's been a LONG time since I've posted here, so I thought I'd stop by and say hello. Just wanted to let everyone know how I'm doing.
Yes, I AM smoke free! (WOO HOO!) :) But I'm trying something a little different. I'm simply not smoking. OK, you're probably all thinking, "DUH! That's what we're ALL doing here!!!" Well, what I mean by that is that I tend to get a LITTLE obsessed with the number of days on the meter, how many cigarettes I haven't smoked, how much money I've saved, etc, etc, etc... and the problem with that is what I learned from the last time is that I tend to get really upset about how many days I WOULD have had if I hadn't blown it and had to reset, upset about how far others are and wishing that I were there too, and upset about when some people don't reset and I did, which was kinda a slap in the face, yada, yada, yada... basically, all very childish things that I would worry about and make the quit a million times harder!
So now, I'm not keeping track at all. I have no idea when the last time I had a cigarette was but It's been at least a month, maybe a month and a half, since I've had any smokes at all. I'm simply not smoking and not worrying about any of the other stuff. Seems to be working for me A LOT better than the old way. You know the saying, "whatever works, just don't smoke!" Well, that's what I'm doing.
As for other stuff, student teaching is going great! I'm 1/2 way done and will have my certification in just 2 months! YEAH! My life has been hectic, but good! Hope everyone else is doing well too. I've missed so many of you and think about you often! I wish everyone the best!
