We have Indian reservations around us and many go there to buy their cigarettes as they don't have to pay state tax. It is cheaper.
I also looked for buy one get one frees and smoked ANYTHING. Menthol..mild.... you name it.
ON average the big brands are over $5.00 a pack.

On the other hand, here in Bolivia, a national upper brand is about $us 1.00, yeah you saw it right, an "import" like marl***** or Cam** from germany and/or venezuela is about $us 1.20,
If dont have the money, you can buy at retail, I mean 1 2 3 cigs for $us 0.05 each
So saving money is not a reason to stay quit.....
NOPE

Hi Lizzie, I am from the UK too. So prices will be roughly the same. However, I used to get one of the cheaper brands so 4.20. No idea what it is now mind you. I avoid shops.
According to the survey I have been reading for 2007. UK is the most expensive of all EU countries at 5.23 per pack (avg) of which 4.03 is tax. The cheapest place in the EU is Latvia which costs 0.42 avg per pack of 20! 0.31 of that is tax :)
So if you were looking for some cheap smokes then I would know where I would suggest going for your holidays. Of course we don't smoke so we save all of that anyway!
I remember taking an American around the local bars here and he was so amazed by the price of smokes here he took a photo and sent it back home!

One of the most enjoyable aspects of quitting is all that extra money to spend. For me, that's nearly $12,000.
In the UK, an average pack of cigarettes is about 4.80 which equates to around $9.60 (yes - you saw that right - nearly $10!). Of that around 80% is paid into the tax system.
How much is a pack where you live?
Lizzie :)
