THank you everyone! Che'Greger will have time to cook today and reward himself with.......... First, cold cucumber soup, an excellent beginner for a summer evening. Second, a puff pastry topped with a jumbo shrimp and smothered in Newburg sauce. Third, Spinach salad with warm bacon dressing and topped with toasted pine nuts. For the Entree I'm thinking a roast duck with rice pilaf and a few whole green beans just to pretty up the plate. Perhaps along with this a Yorkshire Pudding made with a bit of the duck fat, if this choice is offensive to you Brits then lets call it a popover 'stead of a Yorkie! Dessert is still up in the air, peach cobbler if I make it, something fancy and beyond my meager skills in the kitchen if my baker has something that catches my eye. The first wine will be an oaky buttery chardonay but it may not last so I'm also chilling a pinot grigio.
