Thats right kev, you may feel like smoking, but you won't! Why? because you're a non smoker...and nonsmokers don't smoke! Ever!!!! You keep saying you were such a heavy smoker.....I smoked at least 2 packs a day.....sometimes more, many times more..for years..that is at least 80 a day/560 a week..every day/week. Not just on the weekend...every waking breath....do you want to do that?????? Sheesh, kev, quit TRYING to quit and realize you are doing it, just like the rest of us, one crave, one urge, one thought at a time. You are breaking through to the other side...now I KNOW you know that song.....lol that's all i've got to say -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,680 Amount Saved: $795.60 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 7 Mins: 55 Seconds: 25

Thanks Aloha! I do feel slightly better already. I don't know why reading and writing helps, it just does! Theres something I haven't done today which will help me: I promise to my SSC friends and to my quit buddy, that I WILL NOT SMOKE today. Hi Aloha, Thats was a quick reply! Right as normal. I realise it is junkie thinking and that I am a junkie. I wonder if the strength of my junkie thinking has something to do with the amount I used to smoke. I smoked way more than anyone else at work and way more than anyone else at the pub. I guess I could still be missing the breaks from the computer etc. I am trying to explain to myself. I know I am on the verge of killing my quit and never quitting again. Something that deep down I know I don't want to do. So am fighting and fighting and fighting. Looking at the positives, I am holding on by my fingertips ... but I am holding on. Just counting down the hours before I can leave work, get home and go to sleep. Maybe I will perk up later. kev you know i have never given "the junkie" a separate identity, but all those weird thoughts are YOU, the Junkie, wheedling to have some more nicotine. No amount of nicotine will ever improve your life, only dig your grave faster. I think you have made up your mind to be a nonsmoker, so no matter how much you "think" you want a cigarette, you really don't, because you ARE a nonsmoker. Just keep reminding yourself of that, and don't take one single darn puff, and you will be so much happier this time next week....promise -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,680 Amount Saved: $795.60 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 7 Mins: 43 Seconds: 45

Thurs,Fri,Sat,Sun,Mon, right this is day 6. Yippee I made it to day 6 without smoking. I know I am only two days away from completing hell week. But I am keeping that at the back of my mind and concentrating on the day at hand. Its not been good so far and I have decided to deep breathe every 15 mins to counteract. Its weird, something inside of me is saying 'you'll still be craving like this in a weeks time, give up now, you can't handle it'. So I am repeating to myself verbally 'I will not feel this bad in a weeks time' as some kind of mantra. Gotta fool my mind with positive vibes. That be the one. I didn't know if the books and CD's helped at all. Oh well. At least he couldn't be in better more experienced hands if he tried. And of course a hall of fame'er ! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 100 Amount Saved: 16.80 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 3 Seconds: 15
