Unhooked !!!!! :) I'm doing all I can hon to be the strongest I can be, but also knowing that I'm only human and as a result of this addiction I'm going to go through some tough days - hence, my new outlook on the one moment, one day mantra I've been using these last two days. As for committed - hmmmmmmmmmm.. maybe that's coming too.. little men in white coats may be comin' to take me away! LMAO ! Seamus :) Thank you ! It means the world to me that you are proud of me ! I've got so much respect for you .. I know how badly you wanted your quit and you offered so many wonderful words of wisdom to me and other's. Focusing on right now,,,even as I sit and here and type I am focusing on just this and it's helping me enormously. Just throwing something out at you -- When you do decide to come back (or even before), I'd love to exchange email addys in IM and we could be quit buddies :) You let me know k? It's out there for you. And I'll let you make the decision. Tresa... :) :) I get what you're saying re playing the games.. I admit today I played a few myself and it WORKS ! :) Bottom line is --- do whatever it takes.. play games, distractions, get water logged, chow down (for an acceptable period of time..lol), walk, run, nap, watch movies til you fall asleep, listen to your favourite music - ANYTHING BUT SMOKE ! And on that note.. time to snuggle into the comforter and watch a movie with my trans fat free popcorn and diet caffiene free pop ! Nite all ! xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20 Amount Saved: $7.25 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 50 Seconds: 22

Good advice here, its the way i got it done, i sort of started making a game of it after a while, tho somedays wont be fun to play, i would play any way, i did whatever it took to get my mind off smoking, I made a commitment that if i smoked just one, it would be as bad as if i was cheating on my husband, i wouldent cheat and becasue i that thought i wouldent smoke, Just sounds crazy dont it?? but its true. I finally am using the same will power on my weight thing and you know what Its working, but if i eat cake its not like cheating on my husband LOL , not the same game, well iam BLA, BLA, Bla so ill go for now ya all hang tough Tresa :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1794 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 35,880 Amount Saved: $6,279.00 Life Gained: Days: 253 Hrs: 0 Mins: 5 Seconds: 49

It's been a pretty o.k. day :) I've had my moments, then I get busy with ANYTHING to distract me - watched a movie, spoke with a friend on the phone, did some crossword puzzles and got into Sudoku to wrap my mind around. I'm now in the middle of cooking dinner and have already decided to watch t.v. tonight and get to bed early. I'm not looking past the moment I'm in and that's a huge difference from my recent quit/slip. Before I was thinking thinking thinking about tomorrow, the following week and so on.. I am IN today.. I am IN the moment.. taking deep breaths, keeping busy and resting in between. xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20 Amount Saved: $7.25 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 24 Seconds: 48

You are awesome Sam - glad you didn't give in to the cave but instead came boldly back to 'phuff' in the face of nicotine! Sam, Take one step at a time. That is how you get through the quit. Remember N.O.P.E. Not one puff ever. The thought of forever is way too much at this stage of the quit. Work on today, keep feeling good and even when you don't feel good, keep going anyway. You are doing great. It takes great courage to get right back on the wagon. Most don't have that courage. Today is a great day to choose not to smoke.
