Congratulations Kev! Ya know, you were the only one who had doubts about your ability...we all knew you could do it. Be proud! Flash those stats! If you get through Sunday, you have the weekend kicked in the ash! Then it's Monday and right after that, it's Phil's favorite day when all good things happen! One foot in front of the other. One day, one hour, one minute at a time. Just don't smoke. You know how to do that now, my friend. I'm still holding your hand, and I am very proud to do so! Don't let go now!!!! Well, 7 days smokefree. I MADE IT!! I kind of did it for those who believed I could. And in the end suprised myself. It is without doubt the hardest struggle I have ever endured. I know I am about to break, which is why I have already been listening to 3 hypnosis CD's and been reading the trust thread from Butterfly Swimmer & Co. I will not dwell too much on the negatives because the positives are : One of the heaviest weekend smokers on this site (and possibly weekdays too) can actually make a week smokefree. With help from NRT + his friends from SSC. It has been a case of balancing the positive energy that I get from this site against the negative energy from those I have to deal with in real life. You are a major credit to any quit. Even tough nuts to crack like me. Hi Guys, Nope, I was on the couch watching Live Earth, wondering why Metallica weren't top of the bill :) Were you watching the New York version? I have also a new found appreciation for the Pussycat Dolls...just don't tell any of my rock friends :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 175 Amount Saved: 29.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 43 Seconds: 50

Kev, You really have some amazing people here supporting you my friend. Belated happy birthday! Well, well, well now, just look at you. Is this really our JDK??? And is this really a Smoke-Free Days: 5 I see on your quit meter??? Yes, I do believe you've had a MAJOR break through here. Yes, you can and YOU WILL go from 200 smokes a weekend to zero. You can do it because you are stronger than this addiction. Just know it. Just own it. Just do it. One minute, one hour, one day at a time. I know you enjoy playing video games and thought maybe this analogy will help: Role Playing Game 1) Ultimate Objective ~~ Slay One big monster 2) Minor objectives ~~ Defeat many small monsters (just keep fighting) 3) Necessities ~~ Map, armor and weapons (makes playing the game easier) 4) Important to dos ~~ Collect special items (acquire better armor and weapons whenever possible) 5) Must Dos ~~ Gather keys/items to unlock doors and learn secrets to help you win the game 6) The End ~~ The monster is dead, youve won the game (you can hit restart and play again if you want to) Quitting Smoking 1) Ultimate Objective ~~ No smoking 2) Minor objectives ~~ Cope with cravings and withdrawal symptoms (replace fear with knowledge) 3) Necessities ~~ Understand addiction, triggers and devise coping strategies (become knowledgeable) 4) Important to dos ~~ Learn what coping items, rewards and strategies will work for you; list of reasons to quit; find physical and mental tools that help you cope (turn knowledge into power) 5) Must Dos ~~ Have coping strategies and items on hand at all times. Understand and accept that your body and mind go through stages to heal. Know that smoking is NOT AN OPTION no matter what happens (use your power...nico-hammer...to replace fear) 6) The End ~~ Living a happy, productive life without smoking ** ** Please note, if we forget N.O.P.E. the addiction restarts automatically ** Keep up the great job Kev! :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 159 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,360 Amount Saved: $2,226.00 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 19 Mins: 36 Seconds: 47

Mr Ed, Thanks! No pin the tail on the donkey this time :) Nance, Can someone go from 200 smokes a weekend to zero? Sure they can. You guys make me believe that and I will be reminding myself that tonight. I have been voluteered to roadie for my friends band. My ears are gonna hurt tomorrow! Not exactly the most melodic band around :) I will be drinking lots of water i feel. I hope you have a great weekend.
