Johnthedj, I understand. Where you are is not a good place to be. No one wants to be there and no one likes it. It doesn't end there but it does get easier when it comes again. Some thought threads that will help keep you mentally constructive: What is your coping strategy? What's kept you from smoking this long? What made you quit to begin with? Stay strong and stay around very understanding people until this passes; oh by the way, it will pass. Hey John, You are doing great, almost a month. Take a deep breath, infact take several, the slow deep breathing really does help with the irritablility and it does help you relax! Use a mantra at the same time, such as 'I am a non smoker"! Why, because you are, you have done it, you quit about a month ago, so now close that door and don't ever go back in there! "Smoking is not an option so I have to do something else" You have done it man! Keep that thought and keep your quit! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 76 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,900 Amount Saved: $801.80 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 7 Mins: 48 Seconds: 20

johnthedj, I know this sounds cliche.....but it will pass. You will find that you feel great for awhile...then not so good...then back to great. I do believe what some have said: there is 30 day...10 day craves. If you give in now.... you won't know what good stuff there is around the corner. Your doing great.....and you have accomplished sooooo much. Hang in there. Hey Jon, welcome aboard! I see we quit about the same time. congrats on your quit so far, I know what you mean about the irritability. It has killed all my other quits so far, I have a child and I can't stand to be irritable with her. This time though, when I feel irrationally angry, I have been doing the deep breathing exercises. Which actually work. I always thought it was kind of stupid, but it does take your mind off whatever was wrong in the first place. That, or I fall asleep, LOL! I do hope you feel better. Hello, Hang in there, these craves and mood changes do get better. Try and keep busy. I know the weekends were the worst for me in the beginnng. Hated to see the weekend come. Now that is all better and I can look forward to the weekends again. The SSC is supposed to be working on getting a button put on here so we can make the posts go from oldest to newest or newest to oldest, whichever we prefer. Give them time, they are working hard to make this site the best. Hope you feel better. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 80 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,000 Amount Saved: $400.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 12 Mins: 14 Seconds: 58

Hi jonthedj - congratulations on making it one month smoke-free. This is a great milestone. Hang on in there with the irritation - it will pass, eventually. Why don't you try some extra practical solutions to help. Some excercise? Calming walks? Time out? Hope you're feeling better soon. Keep up the good work. Today im 2 days away from being completely smoke free for one month. This weekend ive been craving more than ever. Im getting verry irratable too. Also why are all the posts backwards or is it just me? makes no sense to have the first post on the bottom or on the last page. I supppose me being pissed off and craving isnt helping my mood either but I speak the truth.
