AutumnRse, Please consult your physician or pharmacist. Perhaps your not taking it correctly? Your dose may just need to be adjusted. As the other members mentionned, it is only an aid. You'll still have to do the work to keep your quit. Begin by working the online quit program. It's a great ressource that will you put together a plan to tackle cravings and other triggers. Keep us posted. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Way to go Kathleen! You're almost throught the physical addiction...keep drinking lots of water and prepare for dealing with the psychological associations and cravings Autmn Rose: Have you taken a look at the Tools to the left, esp the Glove Compartment and Workbook? They are very helpful in preparing to quit. You have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. The chantix is one tool, a very helpful one in my opinion, but not the whole answer. I hope you find some help and support here or elsewhere..whatever it takes. You WILL feel much better once you stop. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,188 Amount Saved: $367.2 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 12 Mins: 43 Seconds: 13

Hi Autumn The Chantix is supposed to stop the receptors in your brain from getting the nicotine. It makes smoking useless. You are supposed to take Chantix for 1 week and then quit smoking. You will still have to endure the craves from quitting, but they won't seem as bad because of the chantix. The nicotine will be out of your body in 3 days and then you only have to deal with the psychological part of your quit. I had been a 25+year smoker (close to 30 years), then i started Chantix and quit. That was 75 days ago. Without the chantix i think i would have started up again. It really helped with the craves. You can do this, read the directions on your Chantix package and lets get you started. There is so much help on this site, you have found the right place to come to. Let us know how we can help you. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,888 Amount Saved: $375 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 23 Mins: 54 Seconds: 6

Hi Autumnrse! I think the reason the Chantix isn't working for you is because you were supposed to take Chantix for one week and then pick your quit date. You should of stopped smoking by now. Put those butts down!!!! And try right now!!! Thats how you'll get the most from the Chantix. Let us know how it goes! Good luck, we're with you!
