Triggers

jnine, They say that you have to go through all 4 seasons before the cravings really go away, and I believe that to be true. The season change always brings around tough cravings for newer quitters because they find little things that they used to do while smoking that they haven't done as non-smokers yet. Each season change will probably be this way for a while, so get prepared. The good news is that the more you do something without smoking, the less your mind associates that activity with smoking. My toughest trigger by far was drinking... and especially drinking with smokers. Now, I can go out with smokers and non-smokers alike, drink all I care to drink and not once think about smoking... but that took a LONG time!!! My advice is to just go about your routine as normal, despite any tough triggers. The more you do that, the weaker the trigger will become. Crave the Quit! Great sharing everyone! This is an excellent way to learn from others experiences and gain some coping techniques along the way :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
