To all the new smoke-free people!

Hello to all the new smoke-free people and welcome to this support site! I am no one special, just someone who is going through what you are! I posted a message earlier to someone on here, and if you don't mind, I would like to repost it! ;)
Nicotine is one of the most addictive, common, easiest to get a hold of with it being legal, and the hardest habit to break. Just making the decision to quit deserves praise and support! Don't pass off what you are doing as nothing, it is a large step and well worth support and understanding!! You deserve a pat on the back and a "way to go!" for sure! ***Patting on your back**** Way to go!
I was on this site on my last quit (that I failed miserably on) and found it so helpful, insightful and calming. There are wonderful support staff here and everyone is here for the same reason; to get rid of the junkie thinking and start life over again! Sorry for babbling, but I was feeling a crave and had to get it out of my mind! Posting usually helps me greatly with that! Thanks for listening (or in this case, reading)! Stay Strong! ~PEACE~ Shortcake ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 290 Amount Saved: $63 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 4 Mins: 3 Seconds: 30

I'm so glad that I found this website, I think it is what is helping me stay strong. I'm lucky in the fact that I have many supporters at work too, even among the smokers, they are all very encouraging. I watch as my old smoking buddies bundle up this week to go out back to smoke and think to myself, "it's so nice not to have to go out there and freeze anymore!" I was a slave to the smokes right along with them, going out in subzero wind chills it's so nice not to have to do that anymore although I do miss my buddies. It's been hard but I keep telling myself I can do this which has helped. I truly appreciate everyone on this site because all of you help me stay strong, just knowing you all are going through what I am. I'm truly grateful for this website! Stay Strong! Thanks so much for your support, this is like the 5th time I have tried to quit since 1990 and I really believe I will make it this time! I will continue to fight and say no until the day when things are easier! Hi all: I want to join this love-fest, too! I'm so glad you new quitters are finding the SSC the same Godsend that it has been for me! I'd venture to say that most of us never even realized that we craved (yes, pun intended) this level of support from strangers. But, yet, you're really NOT strangers! We have SO much in common, regardless of the stats meter. We've all been enslaved by this monstrous addiction and truly understand what it takes to conquer it. I thank you all for the continued support and I want to be there for each and every one of you who may feel I can help in any tiny little way. Keep the faith, all!! You're doing fantastic!! We're glad you found it too!! Everyone is different intheir quits, but I truly beleive in NOPE and do not give yourself a choice to smoke. Do whatever it takes to just not smoke. Try and see the light at the end of the tunnel, because I promise you it is there. No one can give you a magical number that when you reach it, everything will be better. Know that it does get easier each and every day and it is SOOOOO unbeleiveably better on the smoke free side. Ialso think this site is Marvelous. I truly beleive it has kept me quit for this long. I too have a great support team in my life, but no one that has quit smoking themselves who can understand just how hard this is. Keep coming here often and remember it does get easier each and every day.
