I'll be praying for you! Good luck to you and hubby both. What a wise decision you have made together for your family. Read---there are a lot of people here that have done it and you can too! A good scout is prepared! Welcome aboard and good luck hopeful_1, I know I'll be praying for you and your hubby. Your quit won't be easy or fun; but the rewards of being smokefree are well worth it. Spend lots of time here, post and read old posts. Use the IM if you can. Print out all the reasons why you want to quit. Keep them near. Please remember N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Even) Take care, Ron My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 318 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,142 Amount Saved: $2146.5 Life Gained: Days: 49 Hrs: 21 Mins: 23 Seconds: 49

Hello hopeful and welcome- Trying won't work with quitting this powerful addiction - nothing short of doing and a hell of a commitment will work with nicotine addiction. Dig deep - your desire to quit has got to be stronger than your desire to light up - if that's not true, it won't happen for either of you... IF your commitment and clarity is there - get ready for a powerful and challenging journey. Spend as much time as possible here reading old posts - find some older quitters who touch you - who you feel a connection with and look for their posts, as I did... I can promise you one thing - IF you are ready - and committed and you are willing to learn to love yourself and accept support, the SSC will serve and support you in a myriad of powerful ways, dear one... Blessings and stay close- Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 323 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,324 Amount Saved: $1501.95 Life Gained: Days: 42 Hrs: 7 Mins: 30 Seconds: 44

Hopeful, Congratulaions for setting your quit day. That is a huge start, don't beat yourself up. This is a crazy addiction, but you can do this. If you're looking for support you have come to the right place. Someone is here 24-7, so look around the site and fill up your tool box, go to the Hall of Fame and read about the people on this site and how they got there. Hopeful, I smoked for 50+ years and if I can do it you can too. So hang in there and stay strong. Be determined, have a good attitude, and most of all you have to have a strong commitment. So get on the QUIT WAGON and ride it to the end..... :) YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! Hopeful, Welcome to our support community and congratulations on making such a wonderful choice. Take the time for your and your husband to get prepared. Get those coping mechanisms ready and perhaps prepare a big basket full of mechanisms. You can use gum, water, hard candy, movies, books and even a stress ball. Start doing things you want to do! Activities, chores, renovations, hobbies. Get out there and take a walk to calm you and ease the crave. We are always here to help so post often and lean on us :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
