Joseph,
I think one of the toughest things about this addiction is the misconception that in a few days, it's all over and done with and you won't ever think about smoking ever again. I thought the same way. I'd heard "after 3 days, the poisons are gone, so the addiction is broken in 3 days. Everything after that is a piece of cake!" But that just isn't the case! If that were the case, I don't think there would be a single smoker on earth, the tobacco companies would go out of business and there would be no need for NRTs, quit smoking aids or even the SSC! But the truth is that each day, you are one day closer to never feeling like this again. Hold on to that thought, ok? It really is true. You smoked for many years... therefore, it's going to take more than 3 weeks to get over this addiction. Three weeks is nothing to sneeze at though, and I'm not belittling it one bit... 3 weeks is amazing and you're doing an excellent job! But it might take a little bit longer till you really start to feel the freedom. But you WILL feel freedom if you stick with this quit. That, I promise!
Crave the Quit!
Pam
