Hi Mary, I just turned 57 and on February 6th I will celebrate my 2 year quit! I smoked for 30 some years and never thought I could do it. I stopped in January of 2004 and was quit for 10 months. Then while going thru a depression period I started up again for another 3 months. I knew it wasn't what I wanted to do. I did a search engine for a quit smoking site and here I am. I found a great group of people that quit right around the same time in February 05 as I did and we formed the group called the UNSMOKEABLES. I used the patch, and it worked for me. Everyones quit is different and you may have to try a few options until you find the one that will work for you. The best advice I can give you is to read as much on this site as possible. Do a search topic on this site for Duffis and read everything you can that he has written. He has been a mentor for many people on this site and is a great, great person. There are a zillion great posts here, so read all you can. Buddy up with some people that are quitting the same time as you, it really helped all of us in our group. I wish you the best, hang in there kid, it can be done! I am proof as are so many more before you!
