Pain and change seems to cause growth and understanding and sometimes, contentment.
CobenFan, what you stated above is so very true. Ter, thank you for your words. I finally got a good night's sleep last night. Been up for a few hours now and feel the tears coming. Why? For all kinds of reasons.. BUT I will NOT smoke! I've written an email to Phil to get a lot of things out in the open - it's cleansing in some way for me to write out my feelings... And now I have to become physically active to burn off the anxieties I'm feeling. Also, would like to get out of this thread.. need to start something new ya know? Right now I can't think of a heading which best describes what I'm feeling.. any ideas? Hugs and love ... Dearest Monica, You have had so much on your plate, I really think you need to cut yourself some slack. OK, you smoked, yeah it sucks (I did it to, remember?) It still sucks, but our smoke free life beckons us forward and I know, I do truly KNOW that we will feel free and wonder what all the fuss was about when we get to the other side of this addiction. So hang on tight, we will make this, I promise we will. But you have to do one thing. You have to promise to call me (I know you have my phone number) BEFORE you go to the store. See, I know how big this promise is. If you make the promise, I know you will talk to me first and you would not have me think I could have said or done something that would help, right? OK, so here we are, new day, new time. Your life is still gonna have the same stuff in it that it already has. Your life is still gonna be fraught with hubby and Dad and all the things that make you think that the world will end unless you smoke. We both know that isn't true, because we both have tried it, and IT DID NOT WORK. The rest of the crap was still there, we just added smoking (and heartbreaking as it is, resetting the meter...) to our troubles. So what's it to be? Will you promise? I will hold you to it. I love you, I am inspired by you; come and be hugged by all of us here at the SSC, Denise My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 171 Amount Saved: $25 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 38 Seconds: 42

Hi Monica I'm still at work and saw your thread but wanted to wait until I had time before responding. So glad you are back on your quit. You have been amazing. The thing about quitting is that we have no idea what to expect. Sometimes we surprise ourselves (i.e. How did we ever survive that first week??) Sometimes we get blown over and knocked down. I guess that's why this is a journey - Every time we get knocked down, we get back up and figure out how we are going to deal with this issue the next time it hits. You've been through a rough time and been tested to the max - Look at how strong you have been! You can do this and we will help you each step of the way. Deep breaths now........Take care Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 116 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,334 Amount Saved: $580 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 8 Mins: 53 Seconds: 16

Let's get it done Monica! You can do this! Each day, it's a choice. We don't just quit and then never again choose, but rather, each day, or even each craving, we decide what the outcome will be. We are all here for you to help you make the right choice - but it has to start with you. Glad you're getting right back to the quit. You won't be sorry. Crave the Quit! Monica, We hope you're getting your much needed R & R this weekend. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are facing many challenges in your life right now. It's not easy to cope. Know that once all is said and done you will come out the other side a better than when you went in. Keep close. Danielle _____________________________ The SSC Support Team
