Nope. No fireman here! Just a guy with a little help to offer. Monica - you had a slip. Just treat it that way. No more, no less. If you take the attitude "no big deal", you're not giving that slip the importance it craves. If however you treat it is as a catastrophe, all of sudden it becomes huge and a real obstacle to overcome. I didn't slip during my quit, but came damn close. I tried to treat it as an annoyance. No more. No less. I didn't give it the attention it craved. Hang in there and remember...no big deal. Understanding the posts. Blankets and firemen. Hey whatever helps keep the quit! Glad to be here too. I never expected to see THIS many people. Maybe we can hit the tobacco companies hard. Hi everyone. I'm Don and this is my first time posting. I'd like to lend my support to the new quitters. I'll be smoke free for 2 years on Jan. 15. My daughter quit smoking 4 days ago, my son 2 years ago, and my wife, well, she's still struggling, but she'll make it. She's got the support of the family behind her, as well as the support of all of you here. Giving up cigarettes is one of the best things you'll do in your life. As time goes by it DOES get easier. I know it doesn't seem so when your quit is young, but in all honesty, time DOES fly. Glad to be here and good luck to the new year quitters. Ladies, Ladies: First, they're fireFIGHTERS, not fireMEN any more. Many of them are female. The new Chief of Police in Washngton, DC, is a woman. The new head of the Episcopal Church in the US is a woman. Time to let go of the fireman fantasy. Not that firefighters don't hold their own special appeal, especially to the aging among us who are prone to burn down entire apartment complexes by the simple act of forgetting where we left that cigaratte. But I promise you, there are better ways to meet gorgeous, hunky, eligible, firefighting men than by inadvertently burnng down your building. peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 69 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,494 Amount Saved: $379.5 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 18 Mins: 22 Seconds: 6

Hey Don - Be very careful...During stressful times, we have found gonna hiding under our blankets (Just thought that I should warn you) And.......just so you know.....still glad to have you here even if you're not a fireman. (Perhaps your wife will be able to explain what these posts are all about) Thanks for coming to SCC - We appreciate the extra support!
