Thank you all, things are better today. Not so anxious and my breathing is better. I have been staying very busy and it has helped alot. Reading the great accomplishments people have made with their quiting has been very inspiring. Just have to take it one day at a time.

Have been smoke free for 7 days and had the auriculotherapy done. I believe it did help, with the cravings. But, still have these anxiety attacks. I have been working on deep breaths and lots of water seems to help. This site seems like it will be alot of great help and advise, just reading the post has helped me. Thanks and good luck to all. Hey I have suffered with anxiety attacks for years. Yet, since I've quit I've actually got calmer... remember nicotine is a stimulant. My heart rate is slower, I'm generally more relaxed. Keep doing your deep breathing and also look into progressive muscle relaxation. You must learn new ways of dealing with stress. You are doing awesome... I promise it WILL get easier. kygirl613, congratulations on your first week. I'm so proud of you and I can't wait to get there myself. A day goes by so fast but, when you're in your quit, my Lord they go my slow. At least they do for me. I understand anxiety attacks. I've had them for years and to the point of going into a full blown panic attack....many times. I don't understand why we have to suffer from them but I did have to get help from my doctor to manage them. All of this happened while I was smoking and for years. So, I know the cigarettes didn't calm me or I'd never have had to get help from my doctor. It's the life change that brings on an anxiety attack. Giving up smokes is a life change for sure. But it's one you will adjust to in time and those anxiety attacks will leave you alone as well. Good luck and we're all here for you. kygirl613, Just keep reading the posts (past and present). You will find insight to what troubles you. You've made it through Hell Week and Heck week won't be quite as bad. By now you should be acquiring some confidence into your quit. Anxiety is normal and it will pass as you learn about triggers, what sparks them, and how to cope (read, read, read). Congratulations to you...your doing good! auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,175 Amount Saved: $204.25 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 23 Mins: 37 Seconds: 18

Welcome, Kygirl: You're absolutely in the right place -- we'll see you down this wonderful path to quitting. It's a fine place to be! Deep breaths and lots of water can really be helpful. Watch your self-talk, too. Keep it on the positive side, as in all the positives of becoming the nonsmoker you have CHOSEN to be. That's all this is, you know, a CHOICE. (And a damn good one, I must say!) There is literally NOTHING positive about smoking -- you know that, so don't allow the addiction to trick you into believing that smoking holds the key to what ails you. The SMOKING is what ails you! You CAN do this -- we'll help. Keep the faith -- and your great quit!
