Kypalak,
We are very much alike. I smoked for 30 years and my mother, who is 73 has COPD. She is very bad and can hardly walk to the bathroom without being out of breath. So she is completly dependant on me for everything.
I have 4 kids and I don't want them to have to take care of me and have kids to take care of at the same time like I do. I also can't stand the thought of not being able to breath like my mom goes through. So I quit smoking, 71 days ago, and soon, my whole family was following behind me. My 16 year old daughter quit, then my mother, then my aunt and so on.
I just want to let you know that at 71 days, it is easier and I understand it will get even better. You are not alone on the COPD thing, my mom's doctor told us that we have a choice, smoke or breath. That has kind of become my mantra. Smoke or Breath, Smoke or Breath.
Love,
Mama
