I came to SSC tonight to ask for help in my resolve to quit smoking, as I have had an extremely emotional week (many things, not just one) and found myself today thinking why I was quitting at my age and after all the years I had smoked. If I had been near a cigarette, I am sure I would have lit it. What difference would it make? Well, I don't know what's in store for me or how I can help anyone but I hope it is in a positive way. Joe Cool was an extraordinary person. It took courage for him to post here, not pitying himself but helping others. I feel small and petty and will keep my resolve not to smoke. Perhaps others in my age group who are long time smokers will realize that for whatever reason, we are still here and have the courage of Joe Cool to make a difference.
