Welcome to our family and HECK you can ramble on as much as you want. You can even kick, scream, yell, throw things and we will still be here. Stay with this you are doing great. I also started on the patch, I had cut down to 10 cigs a day so I started on the 14mg, then went to the 7mg and now I am on no patch...woohoo nicotine free at last. I am on wellbutron but I am planning on going off it in another week, going off slowly though...lol. Use whatever you need to so that you keep this quit safe and secure. We are glad you are here and this is a great decision you have made for your life. Sue, We have come up with a new idea here: a 'mentor' for each new quitter. I am now quit for 193 days: people here will tell you that i'm totally crazy - nevertheless I am prepared to help you to the best of my abilities. This site has helped me quit - now I will pay back! Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 193 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,813 Amount Saved: 1447.5 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 7 Mins: 14 Seconds: 14

Hi Sue and Welcome! You have don't have to worry about rambling! We love it when you ramble. We get to know you that way. Sometimes we do the sillest things as smokers - such as smoking right out of the hospital - but you are doingo the greatest thing in the whole world for yourself now! You are becoming a NON-SMOKER!! Way to Go!!!! Congrats on the weight loss and I know that you will attack this quit with the same determination. I have bumped in the "Coping with Withdrawals" a series of posts that Rusty is writing - what to expect on day 1, day 2, etc. I think these posts are invaluable for new members as well as folks with quits like me - to bring up our resolve from our toes! and renew our commitments! Keep Strong! and Welcome Again! Hi Sue and welcome to the SSC. I quit cold turkey but experienced some of the same feelings you described. I guess our brains just don't know how to handle all that oxygen! :) I smoked menthol cigarettes as well and used peppermint as a substitute. I still carry them around in my purse but only reach for them occassionally. They really helped with that after dinner smoke. Peppermint worked great for me and I highly recommend it. Your body is going through a lot right now. Be patient with yourself and know that as long as you don't smoke, these feelings will pass. You are going to love being a non-smoker! ladyarwen, Congratulations on four big days! Does Cigaffeine have caffeine in it? Whether it does or doesn't, you might want to watch your caffeine intake as it works stronger on you when you first quit. You're also loading up on sugar, too...you might substitute some crackers and cheese or something else for some of those dinner mints.
