why do I feel like crying every morning?

Ex-slave, Has this only started since your quit? What do your thoughts circle around? Do you have an outlet for your emotions? Danielle _________________________ The SSC Support Team

Ex-slave, Perhaps modifying your morning routine would help? Can you think of something you love to do in the morning that would make you feel happy or relaxed? Sometimes replacing the old habit with a new & better one helps. Danielle __________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Ex Slave, Shevie says that for some reason a lot a people suffer like this at 3 months or 100 days. My take on this is that I could not wait to complete 3 months / 100 days and I was so happy to achieve this. Then a few junkie thoughts crept in: "So you've done 100 days - what now? A year is still a long way away". It's almost as if these significant dates happen too early. In my case, I really started to notice a big change in the way I thought at about 150 days, though of course, it varies person to person. Think back to your first few weeks - is it really as bad as that? No need to answer that question btw Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 206 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,198 Amount Saved: 1545 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 10 Mins: 40 Seconds: 45

Maybe some couseling and a bit more exercise. I found at my 60 day mark, that the craves were coming back at me out of nowhere so I got down and dirty with intense exercise and even running (which I detest!). If your physician is available - call him/her on the phone and see if there should be adjustments to your medication. Everyone is different and we have tough times at different times in our quit. See if you can take gentle care of yourself and do some relaxing yoga in the morning instead of doing what you are now. Make some changes, and you should see different things. Hope you feel better! Hi all, My script for wellbutrin is ready to expire. Maybe I will talk to my dr about trying a new med. I originally requested wellbutrin because I heard about how it can help you quit smoking; and I was ALWAYS thinking about quitting; especially the last 5 years. I think that depression runs in my family; my mom, (she did nothing about it), and my older sister has been experimenting with different meds for years. She was very depressed until she sought treatment. I have a hard time distinguishing between sadness caused from life situations and sadness from depression. I know that I have felt a black cloud come over me for no reason at times. Friends will ask "what is wrong"; Nothing is wrong, really, I am just sad. It is strange. But, in spite of all this I have at least one thing to REJOICE about... I don't smoke! I am an ex-slave to nicotine! Hi all, Every morning my alarm is set for the same time. I get up, make my delicious fresh ground coffee, maybe hop on scc for a while and read or post, or both. I hit the shower and start getting dressed for work. All this time, I am teary eyed. I may go from teary eyed to actually crying. It is a melancoly feeling. By the time I get to work I am usually fine. I don't know if I am regretting my past, fretting my future, or what?? I have taken wellbutrin (or an equivilant) for 5 years. yes, this has just started since my quit. Maybe it is what mama says, I am feeling sorry for myself because I lost my poisonous friend. The mornings are still the time that the junkie tells me that I would "love" to smoke. Hopefully, it will pass with time. Hi all, Shevie, I have been having stronger mental desires to smoke lately. I just hit 100 days. I'll have a fleeting thought, "smoke one. they are in on your roommates dresser" I know that would just cause alot of harm and absolutely nooo good. The cravings would get worse than they are already. I am so looking forward to some mental relief. I am sick of having smoking thoughts everyday! But, it is alot better than hell week. I know it will get better. I am just perturbed right now. Hi, Ex-slave. Take heart in your name, it speaks volumes. I think Mama hit the nail on the head; Rusty and Danielle have good advice. Please heed their words. There's also a hump that pretty much all of us have to go through around 100 days or 3 months. I have no clue why it happens, but I've seen enough people deal with it to know that it's there. Sorry thing slapped me down for a bit, too. Know that it is temporary and that it is part of the healing process, just like hell, heck, and blah weeks were. You will get through it, just hang on. :) Keep up the good quit, Ex-slave. I understand those mental desires, Ex-slave. They are frustrating, as if you have no control over your own brain, or it's turning against you. Distraction is a good way to smother them. Exercise works well, too. You're right! Annoying as they are, hell week is waaaaay worse. Keep up the good quit, Ex-slave. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 470 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,402 Amount Saved: $1786 Life Gained: Days: 87 Hrs: 15 Mins: 17 Seconds: 33
