This is crazy THE CRAVE THE CRAVE...

Hi Loving. I am going to go out on a limb here. I picked up a book called, "The Easy Way To Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. I think you would benefit from reading it. I have read it at night, and when I had cravings which helped me take my mind off of craves. He writes the book as if he is talking *directly* to you. The man smoked 5 packs per day---5 packs!!! I also bought the meditation cd put out by a company called mediatainment. It is found at any book store in the audio section of it. I bought the stress mngt cd, nature, and recently the stop smoking reinforcement cd. The book and my newest cd costs me $31.00. I listen to my cd right after I read a few pages of my book. This is all done 1 hr before I go to bed at night. It has really helped me. You should be a writer! :) I quit smoking on July 6, 2006 at 6:00pm. It has been 1 week, 22 hours, 10 minutes, and 39 seconds since I quit. Had I not quit smoking, I would have: * Smoked 158 cigarettes (That's like smoking a 53 foot long cigarette) * Spent $33.91 on cigarettes * Inhaled 1.58 grams of tar * Inhaled 126 mg of nicotine (That's like doing 2,377 hits of nicotine) * Inhaled 1.74 grams of carbon monoxide * Taken an additional 23 hours, 26 minutes, and 58 seconds off my life

Loving. I just want you to know that you are not alone in the way that you are feeling. I was right where you are now. Crying, thinking unrational thoughts, praying for strength. Day 14 was my worse day. I was honestly thinking of quitting my job and going to smoke "just one" cigarette. I honestly believed that if I could smoke just one I would feel so much better and then I could go on with my life. My friend, one is too many and 1,000 will never be enough. The only way to get over these feelings is not to ever light that next cigarette. I know it seems imposible right now. I know you are emotional and you are hurting. You also know that it is going to take time to get over this horrible addiction. Take one step at a time and keep doing exactly what you are doing. Come here and vent and turn to the Lord in prayer. There is absolutely nothing wrong in asking for help in your time of need. That is why He is there and why He put us here. After I had been quit for a while (a few weeks), I knew I was going to make it. Because the good Lord above had blessed me with the support of the wonderful people on this site. You will make it too Loving. Hang on tight and do not give up on yourself. You are a quitter now and there is no turning back. No matter what! You are doing exactly what you need to do to break free. Keep doing it. Paula Loving, my absolute worst day was Day 11. I won't go into all the gory details, but suffice it to say that Christmas 2004 will always be a horrible memory for my husband. I can't undo it. BUT, I can look back and say as awful as that day was, the day after was like God opened up the heavens and smiled on me. You can get through this if you choose to. I hope you do, Paula. It is worth it. Please hang in there. And by the way, I am 57, I started smoking when I was 17. Yes, I smoked for 40 years a pack and a half a day. Loving, Great job on getting through 12 tough days! If you need to re-charge your batteries check out 1 Corinthians 10:13, John 8:36, Romans 8:18, Philippians 4:8-9 and Philippians 4:13.
i love waking up and taking my wrap off my hair and it still smells as if i just washed it .. i enjoy not huffing and puffing with various things i may do .. my apt is still smelling a little stell but that too will disappear in time...
Focus on these good things as there are many many many more to come. You'll get through this and it happens one minute, hour and day at a time.
