1st Day, Why do I feel like Crying??

18 years ago 0 852 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
KidsRCrying....... I hope you are doing better than the 3 days ago that you posted this. I just wanted you to know that I was here and reading your post. I do not have much to add, but I do have one thing. It is okay to cry. Curl up in a ball and let it out. I cried endlessly for the first few days. It was wierd for me because I am not one to cry. But I did, and it was a release. So don't fight it. Cry. Cry again. You can do this!! ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,376 Amount Saved: $366.24 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 1 Mins: 23 Seconds: 0

Take some time and read as much as possible here and you will understand better what is going on with this addiction... Don't think about smoking - you are Quit, remember? One day at a time, hold on tight and be kind to yourself. Quitting is a rough ride, do the progam on the left if you haven't already. There will be tougher days ahead, so take the time to really build your toolbox of coping skills. kids, quitting smoking changes you into a completely different person. close your eyes and imagine what you were like as a kid, smoke free. imagine how life is when you can go out in the open air and breathe fresh air. you have the power to become that person, free of the dangers of the evil nicosatandevil thingy. feel the excitement and joy that is awaiting you. nothing good in life comes easy, just be patient and soon you will be enjoying the pleasures of a non smoker

Dear KidsRCrying - I felt like I had lost my best friend as well. That's sad when our bf is a cig. I was very emotional and even after all these days on my quit meter - some days are still emotional - but I can promise you, it does get better on this bumpy road of quitting. Go ahead and cry, scream, vent on this website...we are the best virtual punching bag that you can have. Just DON'T SMOKE. This is the best thing that you can do for yourself and your children. Second hand smoke is a killer of children. Please don't put your kids through that. We are here for you. Come on here and yell for help. Get some stop smoking aids - twizzlers were great for me, cut up straws to take a breath through, drink lots and lots of water and have some healthy snacks to eat. It is dangerous to smoke while you are on the patch - Don't do it. It is dangerous to smoke - period. Take Care and know that we care about you and your quit. Hang in there guys. It does get better. We have good days and bad days. For me, yesterday was a bad day, and today's turning out pretty good. Sometimes it's "We have good minutes and bad minutes". Yes, someone is dying. It's the nicodemon. And he doesn't like to lose any of his friends. He fights hard. He fights nasty. And the only thing you can do is fight back, because he really is a weakling. Hi kidsarecrying , Yes this sure is a place where angels gather.... Last year when I tried to quit... I had a problem with crying too... big hot tears... it was terrible... I also failed at my attempt to quit. I thought for sure... that last year was the last time I would be able to try.... I was wrong.... I haven't been able to read all the replies to you... but I did want to say.... I have been smoke free for a month now. So has my husband... since having trible by-pass surgery. I couldn't expect him to not smoke... if I did... So I had to try again before he left the hospital. As you can imagine it was a very stressful time. A friend gave me 2 21ml ... 24 hr patches. I couldn't not believe how well they worked for me. No tears... No stress... No pacing the floor... no a single craving while on the patch. It was total heaven.... AFter I saw what life was like with the smoke... I became angry.... and took the patch off before 2 weeks past. Now I just wanted the nicotine OUT and GONE from my system. Half of the firt box is still on the shelf. Sometimes I think I want a smoke... I was at a party last week.... and I danced... and danced and danced.... and Danced real hard !!!!!!!!!!!! hmmmmmmmmm When I got home I was thinking... wow..... I danced like that! something I haven't been able to do for a couple years... because as soon as I did... my chest just burned soooooo bad.. it was scary I couldn't even walk fast with a small suitcase ... and I am not old... I went to my window.. and Thanked God.... because I could dance again. God Bless You...

Well kidsarecrying... At least you are thinking. And your not trying to deceieve yourself. Ya know, I don't think it is posible to receive the kind of support you receive here... from family or friends. Not that they don't care.. They are just too close... and are not experienceing your journey. So I guess they just can't relate. There are many things in quiting that don't suck. Don't focus only on the hard part. Say yippie with each passing hour. Each day. Each day , each hour, you don't smoke... you are rewarded in someway. Your gaining so much.... And no matter what... BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF.... AND FEEL FREE TO PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK ! Withdrawal from nicotine SUCKS! That's why you feel like this. See your doctor if it gets bad - but try not to smoke - that wont make it better in the long run. You're brave to try quitting - don't give in!
